Vols in Summer Leagues Across Continent

VJAX JUST WENT YARD! HE'S BACK! 2 out, 3 run shot!

In his 2nd at bat, he gets behind 0-2, looking at both pitches which painted the inside, then the outside corners. He worked the count to 3-2, then struck out looking on a pitch on the outside corner, he didn't like the call, it was close.

VJax flies out to RT, 3rd at bat.

VJax hits into a dbl play, not a good at bat there.

VJax line: 1/4, 1 run and 3 RBI's.

I'll do the wrap up tomorrow, errrr later today...weird day of baseball, I think Vols hit more HR's today than they did during the SEC season, gotta be close...that 40 hit game between the Steam and Monarchs wore me out, good game though, sort of, not really, maybe...phew.

GBO!

oops forgot about the pilots...after 1, Moberg's pilots lead, 1-0.

Moberg's not playing, I'm out.

Moberg got in the game in the 8th, 0/1..glacier pilot pitching staff hasn't been scored on in 39 innings.

DONE.

The line up should be pretty good next season. I think we have a chance to be noticeably better on defense as well. If the baseball gods would shine down on us and just let a couple of these arms pan out that are coming in it would really help.

Forgot to mention, Kyle Serrano is not with the SLO Blues. I don't remember now why I thought he was going there in the first place, but unless Dolly Parton opened a Dollywood on the west coast, he's not out there.

Taylor Smart batting 1st, 2nd base

Smart is 0/3 so far, all fly outs.

Draws a walk in his 4th at bat.

As a team, the Sox only managed 4 hits. They get shut out, 9-0.

Moberg's game, which started a half hour after Team USA's is over, with Moberg's Pilots winning 1-0, USA isn't even to the 8th yet. Moberg was 0/3.

6/23 wrap-up

Not a lot of baseball today. Maddox and team USA rolled. Seems like a serious drop off in pitching from the Cape Cod League to the Coastal Plain League.

Taylor Smart is hanging in there. I don't know when the "make it or go home" cut off date is, but he's played in 9 or 10 games, can't imagine he's not going to make it at this point.

As for the Miners, they looked a little tight or tired to me today. Both Stewart and Simcox played well, though AJ did pick up another error today. The rest of the line up didn't provide much offense, which is really a testament to the Bucs' pitching, I guess.

EDIT: I missed the Bot. 1st of the Miners game and I went back and watched Stewarts double. It hit the wall, it was nearly a homerun to right center.

Charpie did well today.

I have a better feeling on when certain pitchers will see action now, so that's a good thing. Tomorrow I'll update the stats and hopefully there will be some good games coming up this week.

GBO!

At first I thought your daily updates were to put it blunt a little sad but now I look forward to reading them. If there is such a reward, you should recieve fan of the year award at the banquet next preseason.

Thanks

Moberg - .375 - 5 runs - 4 RBI - 1 BB - 2 SO - 2 SB - 2 E

Simcox - .441 - 10 R - 7 RBI - 5 BB - 0 SO - 4 SB - 2 E

Stewart - .290 - 7 R - 8 RBI - 6 BB - 5 SO - 1 SB - 0 E

Lee - .273 - 8 R - 12 - RBI - 10 BB - 13 SO - 0 SB - NA

Aiken - .200 - 9 R - 8 RBI - 15 BB - 9 SO - 9 SB - NA

Smart - .200 - 3 R - 2 RBI - 1 BB - 6 SO - 1 SB - 0 E

Lance - .178 - 4 R - 6 RBI - 8 BB - 11 SO - 2 SB - 0 E

Youngblood - .118 - 3 R - 2 RBI - 3 BB - 4 SO - 2 SB - 0 E

Loyd - .189 - 6 R - 3 RBI - 4 BB - 13 SO - 4 SB - 1 E

Flax - .000

VJax - .143 - 2 R - 3 RBI - 0 BB - 3 SO - 0 SB - O E

Bily - .273 - 4 R - 1 RBI - 2 BB - 2 SO - 0 SB - NA

Manis - .143 - 5 R - 2 RBI - 3 BB - 3 SO - 0 SB - 0 E

These were the stats currently listed, I don't think they are up to date in all cases. Some teams/leagues do a much better job than others.

A little info on Manis. His team is currently carrying 4 catchers. It just so happens that the "starting" catcher has the second best batting average on the team at a whopping .463, and 12 RBI. Manis has had 21 AB's , the other guy 41.

Pitching stats tomorrow.
