every team is different and new every year. This is college ball. Alabama loses a ton of players every year too. Every team does. Every team, every player, every game, every moment is new. Every minute is a new opportunity.

Damn. You have me thinking florida will win the national title.

That's great....and it's great that no other team has improved, has more experience, or anything else. I'm glad to hear ONLY UT has improved, everybody else in the SEC and the nation got worse.

Great analysis.

Tennessee had way more room for improvement than most teams.

i can't believe I'm being dragged back into it with you, but yes, yes I can say the same about all the possessions.

Mettenburger isn't a great QB, but he has a full season under his belt

Worley came in at a very difficult time, cold off the bench and did a great job. I'll call him dependable.

So... you can't actually say the same thing about Worley, because he doesn't have a full season under his belt.

RBs who can be depended on to take the pressure off.

Our backs are older, more experienced and have tremendous upside. they have been conditioning like mad and know their jobs now. I'll call them dependable.

So, based on potential and hopefullness, you feel like you can compare UT's backs to LSU's proven commodities?

with a cast of WRs who have actually caught passes

As for our receivers? we have a boatload...more than people are giving us credit for, but they are mostly inside guys. The outside guys are the only "youth"...oh you mean they can't play? like Cooper last year? That's all I'll say.

So you can't actually say that UT has any receivers with any experience, but because Alabama had the best Freshman receiver in the country last year, that makes UT's receivers equal to LSU's.

So you "can say the same about all the possessions (sic)", but you aren't actually saying the same thing about any of the positions.

I'll answer for him.....nu-uh.

I see us winning them all right up to the BCS NC game, but falling short of taking the big prize. I just don't feel it. I'm not usually a pessimist; could be the heat.

Who do we lose it all to?

My pick is a team completely made of Catfish girlfriends of college players, with Teo's gf as the captain and QB

I don't know about SEC championship game but I think we'll beat S. AL, Austin P, KY, Mizz, Vandy, WK. Then I think we'll beat one of SC, GA, OR.

There is no bigger Vols fan than me, but saying that we beat Oregon this year is a stretch. GO VOLS!!!!

All this is funny....actually a good defense can be made on both sides of the debate...to tired to go into all of it but I feel strongly both ways.,,,could go 7-5, even 8-4....could go 5-7, even 4-8....WE JUST DON'T KNOW!!!!

I guess you missed the memo on page 4... You either say we win a NC or you say we lose every game and to Vandy twice...

These are your only two options. Either way, you're getting a label

We're all undefeated right now looking for lightening in a bottle. A&M really didn't know what they had in Johnny Football. Every year there are teams that break out and confound the football world. Why not us this year?

I think are vols will shock the world this year and we go to the sec champ game. People think because we lost Bray Hunter and Patterson that we will not be as good. I think we got just as much talent but we will be balanced a better coach a better D players are hungry and Butch is feeding them what they need.

Butch will be coach of the year.

I thought I was alone in this line of thinking. Thank you. Everyone will see how much coaching can be the difference. CBJ's success will make Dooley look like the worst coaching hire in college football history.

Here's my reasons behind it:

Seasoned offensive Line
Butch and Staff versus Dooley and whatever you called that.
Most experienced team in a while
More overall talent
Neyland Stadium

JMO though!

And candy lost 48-3 to Georgia last year. A team we were within a score of last year in their house. Fools was dead man walking and like it or not(FTR I don't like it but understand why it happened) this team had no fight left. UT is more talented than bandy even with the big three gone. Main thing is main moron is gone.

UT lost by a field goal to USCe, and only lost by a TD to UGA, yet UGA got blown out by USCe.

The transitive property has never applied to college football, and it never will.

So you're saying Tennessee beats bama this year in SEC champyonsip?

I know about ifs and buts and all but when we lost to USCe, Ga., and Missouri the way we did I thought we were cursed. God works in mysterious ways. If we won those games and go 8-4 we still have dooley and CBJ goes somewhere else. This is the year we get over the hump.

It's total BS. When was the last time the experts were right about anything? I can't believe you listen to that crap. We have a team that is every bit as talented and experienced as any other team in college football or the SEC. I don't see any difference between Tennessee and LSU this year. Try opening your eyes instead of listening to the background noise.

Just listened to Nicky Saban at media days. He busted their asses about not being about to make any predictions right. The media is 4-17 in picking the SEC champion the last 21 years. 4-17 people. The media has NO IDEA what they are talking about, they are called "talking heads" for a reason.

Love ur enthusiasm and not a thing wrong with being optimistic. Hope your right brother. I think we are a few yrs away but you never know how much talent and ability the young guys have until they hit the field and get after it. I think we beat a team or 2I that we aren't supposed to beat, getting to a bowl and getting those extra practices, getting confidence and excitement from the fanbase is crucial.

We will be 4th or 5th in East and 9th or 10th in in entire SEC

Quote from the article: "LSU was the projected champion in last year's poll, and the media have predicted the league champion correctly only four times".

Sounds like they're really good at predicting things. Almost as good as VN :p
