Vols Switching to Nike?

If they have already bought it all for next year are the smokey Gray jerseys making it back next season or something different? I personally loved them and obviously the players did too.

There's a little shorter lead time on the uniforms. There will be an alternate next year, but I don't know what it will be. They will be finalized in the spring.

What I dont understand is how can Nike make and sell say UT fan gear if Adidas is our supplier. Does Nike have to pay UT something to do that or just a portion of what they make off it?

They license the logo and pay a standard per unit fee like every other company that puts a UT logo on a t-shirt. Nearly 50 companies licensed the logo for apparel last year, including Nike and Adidas.

Dont get the nike slurp fest.

Adidas...which is the side company of puma due to a fight between brothers...is just as good or better quality in many aspects.

I hate nike shoes and they suck for running.

Asics builds a better running shoe.

Nike is nothing special.

OK running shoes. Even though to me nothing beats Nike there either. But what about the big two? Basketball and Football. Nike's offerings blow any other company out of the water. Not to mention the clothes look way better.

According to the Collegiate Licensing Company, Tennessee was the 15th most lucrative university brand.

(1.) The University of Texas at Austin (2.) The University of Alabama (3.) University of Notre Dame (4.) The University of Michigan (5.) University of Kentucky (6.) Louisiana State University (7.) University of Florida (8.) University of Georgia (9.) University of North Carolina (10.) The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville (11.) The University of Oklahoma (12.) Texas A&M University (13.) University of Wisconsin (14.) University of Nebraska (15.) University of Tennessee

To be that high considering our recent on the field woes has to count for something.

My face hurts from all the face-palming I've done reading through this thread.

Jesus people, no one on this forum believes Tennessee isn't a top-tier program.

The issue is that Nike won't offer us a contract that is top-tier in nature. We will be offered a contract that is 2nd-tier.

Adidas will offer us a contract that will provide greater money and benefits than Nike will ever come close to offering.

Stop with the "Numbers don't lie! You can't tell me Tennessee isn't a top-tier program!!" BS.

Because of stupid moves by Hamilton. UT is not broke, I don't care what they say. Plus you got the SEC network next week, tv money, and everything else.

No one is saying there's no cash flow but you have to look at where we are losing it. Coaching buy outs, down attendance, etc.

Hasn't it been said before that the reason we still use Adidas is because the CEO or president is alumni?

I was under the impression that we don't have anything made by Nike anymore. If we do, I hope someone can point me in that direction because I think their sideline/fan gear is better than Adidas or any other companies. Although, I do think that Adidas has definitely stepped it's game up the last few years.

I knew if I held on to my Nike Field Generals, they'd come back in style!

Sometimes exposure is more important than money. Especially when you are teetering on the edge of irrelevancy.
