'24 Vols Transfer Offers

That’s why we need to go after the Vandy nerd, Sheppard. I’m sure he can learn this offense lickity split.

Putting jokes aside, you aren’t wrong. It’s just kinda frustrating. Speaking of, do you know if we are going after a WR in the portal or if we want one?

They would like to get one but right at this moment they are not pushing portal except tight end. They are having to manage the roster.

This week there has been more focus on recruiting the seniors with and option to return. Trying to get OL from that group as well as other positions.

The roster this morning sits at 82. They have to manage the numbers and the budget. Don't want to get a portal commitment and then have to pull offer because no room.

This is my opinion just from observing actions this week and knowing the numbers.

Do you think that hurts us on these transfers? I think it does because most of these guys are looking for one good year then off to the NFL and it is a risk if they don’t pick up on the system.

I also think it has to hurt us with a few of these big time WR’s and our unproven QB situation and real lack of depth at the QB position. If a big time receiver were to come in and Nico doesn‘t produce he risks hurting his draft stock.

Before I get attacked by some I am not saying Nico will not perform all I am saying is he is unproven at this point.

I can agree with that.

Question. Did you honestly think Daniels would be as good as he was this year? Did you really expect any SEC to come close to Burrow type of numbers again? No you didn’t. Point is you don’t know that Nico won’t set records next year. You are making nothing more than assumptions.

You are acting like Nico setting records in Year 1 as the starter should be the expectation. That’s just unrealistic. JD didn’t even do that his first year with ASU or his first year with LSU. It took time.

We are ALL just making assumptions since there is no evidence to anything regarding Nico yet other than a recruiting service star ranking. But some people’s assumptions are a lot more ridiculous than others.

Agreed at this point we don’t know if Nico will win the Heisman next year or be a big of a bust as Bailey was.

Well…can you tell the coaches to get Diggs since Baron left? Pretty please

Get Diggs to replace Baron. Upgrade.

I won’t be mad if we got Nolen but I won’t lose sleep over it if we don’t. Think there’s character issues with him tbh.

Need some studs in the secondary for sure.

I think Defense is our biggest need and you go after that in the portal. After that you go get a TE and maybe an OL.

I think we can play our younger WRs so I wouldn’t focus on WR in the TP. If a stud falls in our lap then cool but I wouldn’t make it a top priority.
Especially with Thornton and maybe Bru coming back.

Yes.

This is why I asked about trying to find another portal QB who'd be willing to come in and compete and of course got flamed per usual. Because of the staff's reluctance for whatever reason to play Nico this season, we really don't know what he's going to do... If I'm him, the pressure has got to be insane right now... which is shouldn't be. Unfortunately, this staff has put him in that position for whatever reason. Yes folks talking about burning the redshirt, but realistically if he's indeed that good, he won't be here four years anyway, so it wouldn't have mattered if we played him more.

Because we don’t sub on offense. We are hurry up and go so the defense can’t sub.
If you have a TE that can’t block your offense is limited. There will be an entire half of the playbook you can’t call when he’s on the field.
Joly can play some wide out and WR. Perhaps they talked to him and he didn't like the idea of getting bigger and blocking more? He has to learn how to block if he wants to play in the NFL.

I just think he is a matchup nightnare. It would be like having another Bru to throw to. Besides the game against us his tape is amazing.

Staes is the whole package though. Not as dynamic a receiver, but more talented than Warren and Castles.

Why does everyone keep mentioning Thornton? I’m not saying this to be rude but he was our worst receiver this year by far. We gotta stop saying he was a top recruit because none of that matters anymore man let’s be real.

There was a misguided intention to feature him in the slot...a star maker in this offense. Never fit. When he replaced Bru on the outside, we saw what he brings...then he got hurt. Upgrade from Keyton with a QB who sees the field better.

He was injured and missed a lot of practice. As the season progressed and he adjusted to Milton’s 100 mph fastball, he improved quite a bit. He can be very good. Hopefully we’ll see that.

Out of position and takes time to learn WR in this system. He’s going to have a good year next year.

getting Nico here and then giving the guy bad receivers is just so bad.
I think Nico makes the core we have much better next year. They were getting open, Joe isn’t seeing them. Quarterbacks miss open guys I get that, but he also struggled with touch throws when they ran good routes. As we all know he nuked the ball a lot too.

Please get this kid. I know AllVol hates him, but he’s better than any other tackle we have not named Campbell.

Yep he gets switched over to the outside and

3 rec for 63 yards @ UK
2 rec 26 yards in a very brief UConn game
1 rec 46 yards TD @ Mizzou

So basically in one full game and three quarters he had 6 catches for 135 yards.

Hope he can play in the bowl game!

Bisontis is not good against speed rushers and couldn’t stop one bull rush from James Pearce, often times ending up on his butt watching Pearce hit his QB
