Then not sure why anyone would oppose it - especially while saying the Republicans are trying to suppress minority votes.Nope, most recent study says voter ID doesn't really decrease voter fraud because there is little to no fraud going on anyway. In fact, it doesn't do much of anything one way or the other (doesn't greatly decrease voter turnout either).
There's a 24 page thread on it in VN. It probably only has 1/1,000th of what happened across the states during the election and you just said there's no fraud going on, without a link.Nope, most recent study says voter ID doesn't really decrease voter fraud because there is little to no fraud going on anyway. Well most of the country thinks it’s stupid your state makes it illegal to pump your own gasI'm curious what people think about "vote by mail" on a national and or local basis.
Oregon where I live first tested vote by mail in 1981 and made it permanent in 1987. So we've been using it for 37 years.
Honestly, it seems kind of weird that the rest of the country doesn't use vote by mail. It works very well, it's efficient, cost effective, accurate and results happen quickly.
Allow vote by mail if we can have guns delivered to our house by mail. Done.I'm curious what people think about "vote by mail" on a national and or local basis.

Opens the door for fraud! Not a big fan
That's simply not true. All mail in ballots have to be signed by the person registered to vote. Signatures have to match.A whole thread on numerous fraudulent voting. If 50 people were dead, but I had all their voting Mail cards including mine, I could vote 51 times. If you have voter ID, you can only vote once.

So your fear is that more votes will be cast for Democrats. How about making it easy for the registered voting public, those Americans with the right to vote, being able to vote efficiently, with lower costs and faster results. The idea that preventing vote by mail as a way to keep democrats from voting is in and of it's self an attempt to control American's right to vote. That's assuming your perspective were correct. Not like Democrats need more help stuffing ballot boxes...
I think ballot harvesting is stupid and wrong. Voting by mail needs strong safeguards in place IMO

every signature is electronically verified before the vote is counted so even if a ballot was sent to a deceased person, someone would have to be able to forge the signature to match the signature on file with voter registration. That's not easy to doAnd I’m sure there is no way a ballot gets mailed to a deceased or incapacitated person.
Um.... That's just not well thought out. Pure apples vs oranges. Do you somehow feel that voting by mail will stop gun ownership?
How does it open doors to fraud? Every ballot is signed by the voter who is registered to vote. The signatures have to match the voter registration signature. That's no different than voting in person. Oregon has been doing vote by mail for decades without fraud issues.
Restricting voter locations and forcing long lines at voting stations to discourage voters is more of a problem for having fair elections.
How? Every ballot signature is electronically verified with the signature on file. Over 30 years of doing this without fraud. While I oppose absentee voting outside of military or .gov service I can live with the way that is done. You request a ballot and one is sent to you. The way OR does it just invites fraud.
