Vote by mail

Go right ahead and do mail, because I’ve been shown a way to defraud the system. I can match millions upon millions of votes for Trump in each state. All you need is two printers, nursing homes, and lots of friends in the military. I have all three. So, go right ahead with it.😉

Nope, most recent study says voter ID doesn't really decrease voter fraud because there is little to no fraud going on anyway. In fact, it doesn't do much of anything one way or the other (doesn't greatly decrease voter turnout either).
Then not sure why anyone would oppose it - especially while saying the Republicans are trying to suppress minority votes.

Just another lie to fuel the “racist“ talking point.

There's a 24 page thread on it in VN. It probably only has 1/1,000th of what happened across the states during the election and you just said there's no fraud going on, without a link.

With voter ID there's zero percent chance voter fraud could happen by a citizen casting more than one vote.

By the way, your side is pushing vaccine identification but are saying no to voter identification?

Hypocrites.

I'm curious what people think about "vote by mail" on a national and or local basis.

Oregon where I live first tested vote by mail in 1981 and made it permanent in 1987. So we've been using it for 37 years.

Honestly, it seems kind of weird that the rest of the country doesn't use vote by mail. It works very well, it's efficient, cost effective, accurate and results happen quickly.
Well most of the country thinks it’s stupid your state makes it illegal to pump your own gas

Allow vote by mail if we can have guns delivered to our house by mail. Done.

Actually, Oregon has allowed pump your own gas during the COVID-19 pandemic. Still what does that have to do with voting by mail? And why do you think vote by mail is stupid?

Opens the door for fraud! Not a big fan

How does it open doors to fraud? Every ballot is signed by the voter who is registered to vote. The signatures have to match the voter registration signature. That's no different than voting in person. Oregon has been doing vote by mail for decades without fraud issues.

Restricting voter locations and forcing long lines at voting stations to discourage voters is more of a problem for having fair elections.

A whole thread on numerous fraudulent voting. If 50 people were dead, but I had all their voting Mail cards including mine, I could vote 51 times. If you have voter ID, you can only vote once.
Post Your Voter Fraud Evidence Here
That's simply not true. All mail in ballots have to be signed by the person registered to vote. Signatures have to match.

I think ballot harvesting is stupid and wrong. Voting by mail needs strong safeguards in place IMO

Not like Democrats need more help stuffing ballot boxes...
So your fear is that more votes will be cast for Democrats. How about making it easy for the registered voting public, those Americans with the right to vote, being able to vote efficiently, with lower costs and faster results. The idea that preventing vote by mail as a way to keep democrats from voting is in and of it's self an attempt to control American's right to vote. That's assuming your perspective were correct.

Well if every voter that's registered to vote has his signature on file with his registration and every mail in ballot is delivered in an envelope signed by that voter, then you have a way to verify each and every vote. In Oregon the ballot is filled out and placed inside of a special second envelop that has to be signed by that voter. We've had no problems with mail in ballots and we've been using them for over 30 years.

They're supposed to match. Doesn't mean that will be enforced when counted behind closed doors. Ever hear of ballot harvesting?
Yes I've heard of ballot harvesting and that is something that would be more difficult to do with mail in ballots

And I’m sure there is no way a ballot gets mailed to a deceased or incapacitated person.
every signature is electronically verified before the vote is counted so even if a ballot was sent to a deceased person, someone would have to be able to forge the signature to match the signature on file with voter registration. That's not easy to do

Um.... That's just not well thought out. Pure apples vs oranges. Do you somehow feel that voting by mail will stop gun ownership?

While I oppose absentee voting outside of military or .gov service I can live with the way that is done. You request a ballot and one is sent to you. The way OR does it just invites fraud.

1. How is that proven?
2. Does OR employee 1000s of handwriting experts to examine every ballot?
3. Have they even audited the process to look for fraud?

LOL

Give me 2 minutes and I could passably forge your signature.
