I can't understand for the life of my why this is some theory that needs to be taught. All but the stupidest of people understand this. Even animals begin to understand that playing with porcupines is a problem.

oh i agree, but is what we are trying to get away from in education, or at least schools with smart administrators, is the paradigm that its ok to be the way you are and your actions and what you do is what makes you, you and its ok... the lovey dovey bull crap that you get in a lot of primary schools. you see what im sayin? i may not be explaining it the best

so sex ed is bad, abortion is bad and welfare is bad. The only solution you have is to teach a teen not to do it? That sounds like a solid plan

we teach them to not murder, and expect them to do it, or not steal, not rob etc etc,

im not saying sex ed is bad, im saying that it should be consequence based, and abstinence ed is not a bad idea like you are saying it is.

welfare yes, is very very bad....

anyone trying to produce children to live on their own in the real world scrapped that stupidity the day it was introduced. As we continue to be all inclusive and teach to the LCD, we'll continue to fall behind those nations that make it their function to identify the brightest for advancement and steer everyone else to an appropriate profession.

Fortunately, we still have the greatest higher education opportunities in the world to help us overcome the disaster that has beset our secondary education system.

Education is never bad. Believing you have someone that knows how to educate properly is where the bad comes in.

This is as true a statement as i have ever seen on this forum.

We need to give up the idea that every child can make achievements at the same level. By doing this we hold the best and brightest among our school kids back.

Why can't we simply approach it both ways?

I never said we could not. I am just calling out the idea that "teaching abstinence" is a waste, as stupid.

I would rather none if it be taught in school. Parents need to parent at some point.
