I dont think many of the European nations have an army worth a darn, even if compared to Russia.
I am kinda thinking this will be another one of Putins mini invasions. Just enough to get the win but not big enough to drag in others.Russia will have to get it done within a month, they don't have the resources or will within the military for a sustained offensive lasting more than 30 days. IMO if they haven't conquered Ukraine within a month Putin may find himself out of office.
Putin is not Hitler, either in capability or ideology.

I have a hard time believing he is going to go for a full invasion.
Use the build up as a feint. Keep the other nations on the sideline while they wait for the main Russian force to cross. But they never do, so the small elite units are left to run amuck as they want.
That is correct, people forget Germany was The military power in both World Wars, in both technology, training, tactics, and leadership. Is Russia a major military power? Yes. Do they have the military and industrial complex to launch anything similar to the Germans in both World Wars? No, they do not. Neither do the Chinese and neither do we to be fair, but we are the only ones who are probably the closest to possessing that capability. The World and societies are much different than a century ago. I am not going to say that no country has the stomach to endure millions of casualties, outside of maybe the Chinese, but the notion that this has the potential to launch into WW3 is misguided imho. Never say never, but the days of total conventional wars are more than likely over. I would be shocked to see another nation arbitrarily carpet bomb or lay siege to a city using mass artillery fire. I could be wrong but it will be a tactical strike into certain regions of Ukraine with limited outside interference.
