I'm not a soldier or a military person. Nor have I been crying for the last 5-6 years about standing for the flag/anthem and virtue signaling. People like those guys were. So they should be the first in line to be actually doing something about the s^^t here in America since they took an oath to defend the Constitution. But instead, they chose to defend Ukraine.

We had them when I was in the USAF. You'd see em at any AFSOC base if you were lucky. I loved watching them come flying in from the ocean at Hurlburt Field. Then they'd taxi down to their secret squirrel hangar. They were never kept outside.

Now that you mention it I can remember seeing a couple MI-24’s on the ramp at Hurby a few years ago myself. Secret squirrel hangar door was fully open at the time.

NATO might crush Russian forces in a battle and then lose by trying to occupy Russia. It would like trying to occupy and reform Afghanistan - except multiple times bigger and with far more extended logistics. Basically winning the battle and losing the war because Russia is huge and not controllable by an occupier.

I would break it up into as many pieces as possible. Look to sell off some pieces to neighbors. Form multiple small governments with basically any independence movement put there.

Never try to hold it. Just set up as many friendly stable governments as possible. Maybe reverse some of the ethnic engineering Russia has done, like bringing the Tatars back to Crimea and move those Russian elsewhere.

Makes you think that Russian occupation of much of eastern Europe might have a little to do with corruption in places like Romania, Serbia, Ukraine and others. But surely reoccupation by the Russians would make the corruption go away. After all Ukraine has had a couple of decades of not Russian domination after a lot more of Russian domination; you have to guess they'd have washed off all the Russian corruption by now, and wouldn't need Russia to fix it. It's almost like rulers around the world find it easier to be corrupt than to be honest when they aren't faced with a knowledgeable and a free population.

The Ukrainians should be bringing the neighboring Russians some real pain, but that would come with a bunch of negatives. You Russian backers and the fence sitters would whine because Ukrainians have gone on the offense and were killing "hapless" Russians ... even if you ignore the reality of the flip side. It also might make the Russians more hardline or gain them some sympathy - even if still incompetent. Maybe it is better for Ukraine to remain on defense rather than being an aggressor, but I'd sure love to see them go after some Russian soil in retribution. Bullies who start a fight deserve to get the stuffing kicked out of them - and then some.

If they can hit strategic targets inside Russia more power to them. I 100% believe they should. This is a matter of saving the lives of Ukrainian soldiers. If a few civilians die here and there too bad. Russia can never claim the high ground after what they've done to the Ukrainian people.
