War in Ukraine

Heh. Subtlety failed, so here's the 2x4:

When you say "US senators have absolutely no legitimate business being in Ukraine", it is evident you know nothing about Congress or our political system or even how other nations - especially Ukraine these days - are important to our country for a multitude of reasons.

But, you be you, Hogg.

What legitimate business does any US senator have in Ukraine? Please educate us.

Seems like a lot of tanks. How many does Russia even have?

Russia "has" about 12,000 tanks, but only around 3,000 were considered serviceable with even less being "combat ready". Thats why Russia has been pulling out mothballed tanks built in the 70's..

Well, Hogg, for starters Lindsay Graham sits on the Appropriations Committee, so he's been responsible for sending Ukraine money, weapons and other aid.

Don't you think it makes sense for a Senator to actually visit the very country he's sending billions of dollars to?

Your hair has been on fire ever since this invasion started. Which in reality does not have an effect on us at all. Just something for you and your fellow Ukrainian bots to cheerlead and virtue signal about. When it's all said and done you will feel exactly how Yankees fans felt after game 7 of the 2004 ALCS.

You and others simply care more about Ukraine than what's happening in our own borders. It's really quite sad.

By the way. You're the one who stated the problems that occurred during the Carter and Reagan administrations. That means we've done nothing as a country to try and fix these problems in the last 40 to 50 years. So yeah they are way past being fairly mild like you claim.

Presently the Russian invasion is a higher priority than our own border security. What is happening in Ukraine has the potential to lead to a devastating world conflict. The border problem has the potential to let a few tomato pickers enter the country.

News flash stooge. The economic problems of the 70s are not the same problems we are having today. We've gone through long stretches of good economic health and a few periods of recession since then. So don't pretend todays economic problems have been ongoing since the 70s.

It's not higher than our own border security. If you're a democrat then the conflict is more important because your religious preachers on the media said so. The only way this will lead to a devastating world conflict is if we keep sticking our nose where it doesn't belong. The reality is it has no effect on you or anyone else here. Plus you and your crew of cackling hens are the ones that said Russia would be going back to the dark ages. It hasn't happened yet and it isn't going to happen.

Tomato pickers huh? You guys really like throwing around stereotypes.

I never said they were the same problems. You said the problems of today were fairly mild. They are not fairly mild. Plus I'm not only talking about economic problems. Which shouldn't be hard for you to figure out. What year prior to 2021 did we have over 107,000 drug overdose deaths? Plus this isn't even counting the number of abortions since Roe vs Wade. Drug overdoses, abortions, transhumanism, rising crime rates, legalization of drugs, political tribalism, forced vaccinations are more problems associated with our society. So if you want to talk about those problems we can or you can just continue your virtue signaling nonsense over Ukraine.

No, not at all. Do you think for 1 damn second they were shown anything other than a dog and pony show? It's a freaking war zone, what if one of them had gotten killed and if they weren't close enough to to fighting to be in any danger WTF did they see other than the show the Ukrainians put on for them?

If you think a war in Europe that has the potential to turn into WWIII is less urgent than the problems at our southern border then there's no use even talking to you about it. The 107,000 drug overdoses have one thing in common. They were nearly 100% self inflicted and I would give most of them a Darwin Award.
And enough of that **** trying to blame the war in Ukraine on the US. It's 100% on Vlad Putin. And I hope the West sends enough hardware for the Ukraine military to kick Russia's sorry ass back across the border.

I hate to break it to you, but worrying about foreign affairs has nothing to do with why we don’t fix domestic problems. We don’t fix domestic problems because people either don’t agree on what the problems are or just don’t want them fixed.
Foreign policy plays a pivotal role in a lot of the problems we are facing right now. Not saying it is the ONLY problem, but it plays a huge part.

Plenty of Republican congressman have said it too before voting against spending at home as well.
We don't have the money to do much of anything. We just have a printing press. Since 2020, I'm not even sure why they have an IRS anymore because it is obvious they don't need tax dollars to run the govt.

You don't think we could have used that $40b here? Or if they can't think of a use then quit collecting it
I posted a while ago that Biden's plan to cut the Federal gas tax was estimated to "cost" $10 billion. We are throwing multiple times that amount in a rathole half a world away.

This encapsulates the entire problem with this Ukraine debacle. While our house is on fire, we are concerned about an easement dispute between two neighbors two counties away.

4 more HIMARS coming (12 total + 5 M270s = 17 in theater). Plus 1,000 Excalibur rounds.

Noice.

In a couple months, Ukraine will probably have 50 or so HIMARS systems... at which point the Ukrainian counter offensive begins in earnest in Donbas.

Russias military response?

They. Will. Simply. Be. Destroyed.

Putin's got nothing to counter HIMARS. Zilch. Nada.

Expect the whining volume from Putin and his nuthuggers here to increase as Russia slowly gets its beatdown.

Looking at you Chief Ballbearer @volgr

Putin quote today from Russian TV: "Everybody should know that largely speaking, we haven’t even yet started anything in earnest" in Ukraine, Putin said.

I guess that means another 3 day offensive is on the way. I would he advise he not start with his elite paratroopers this time.

Well, they're all dead, so...
