The U.S. and these politicians have no business getting involved in Ukraine either. So be consistent and call out all the parties involved in this. One wrong does not make a right either.

You all are going to be extremely disappointed when those HIMARS have no effect in the outcome of this conflict. Just more wasted money in Ukraine that could be used here.

They really are pulling out these non-partisan sources like the NY Times lol.

The same NY Times that posted an article called "The Rise of the Far-Right Latina" recently. They cannot stand it that Hispanic Americans are waking up and are more and more distancing themselves from the democrat party.

And the people of Donetsk also had a referendum to join Russia in 2014, but Putin did not acknowledge the vote. Now, had Putin been the person that these guys make him out to be, he would have made the decision to annex Donbas at that point. However, his intention was to allow the peace process going on with the Minsk agreements... in other words, he chose to trust in diplomacy which would have maintained the borders of Ukraine, minus Crimea.

I just found out last night that Putin has also discouraged South Ossetia from having a similar referendum there. So for all of this talk about Putin wanting to rebuild the USSR, when given easy opportunities to do so, he passes on South Ossetia for now, didn't make a play on Kazakhstan when that country was in collapse in January and rejected the Donbas' efforts to join the federation. Talk about Peter the Great or Catherine the Great level of land grabbing by Putin.

If a group of people want to create an insurgency and fight for independence - they should by all means do it. But they shouldn't be mad when their violence is met with violence.

Russia isn't attempting to liberate these people from Ukraine, it's attempting to liberate the land and resources of Ukraine to Russia.

This whole "won't some one think of the people of the donbas" is nauseating.

It took Putin 8 years and him rejecting the Donbas referendum to join Russia to take this action. His hope was that diplomacy would prevail with the Minsk agreements. Had Ukraine lived up to their ends of the agreement, we wouldn't be here today.
