Without nukes, russia is a two-bit regional power with an outdated and immoral military. Unfortunately, with nukes, russia is a despotic state with a sociopath at the helm. And for some reason there are those in here who seem to admire that.

(Standing by for the russian fanbois to weigh in and tell us how untrue this all is, how virile and rational putin is, and just how evel the nation they purport to love is)

Even those that want Russia to walk all over Ukraine just to see the west embarrassed have to admit that in a conventional war we would absolutely crush the Ruskies. They would totally be embarrassed on the battlefield vs U.S. weaponry and tactics.

Incompetence and lack of ability (labor) I'd wager.

Russian logistics are train dependent and use mostly human labor instead of forklifts. They place ammo dumps very close to train stations, then ship ammo to the front via trucks. Given the sheer size of some of these sites and volume of materiel - particularly of artillery shells (Ukraine claims the RU was going through 50K/day - I doubt they could have moved them out with the handling process and train limits.
