Put those 900 troops in the Ukraine and they get vaporized fairly quickly. Overall strategy is very important, hence the use of creep by the US. US/Europe the "global invaders" have no ability to invade nuclear powers.

They can, but it will come at a short term cost. As has been pointed out, Russia is hurting for airplane parts, car parts, computer parts, etc. This will definitely be a short term aggravation for them (and maybe long term if they don't address the issue properly) but I think, in the end, they will be better off de-westernizing. Also, let's not act like the West isn't having supply issues of their own, now the US looks to have a rail issue and on top of that you have an energy crisis in the West that is going to exacerbate everything further.
