War in Ukraine

They don't need to move. Those regions are their homeland. If you actually knew how to study and research history you would know this.

If they don't like their address showing Ukraine, they can move a few mile to where it will show Russia.

Same region, new address. Everybody wins.

It's really this simple.
Unhu. But somehow an area that had no known upheaval or great indigestion with the status quo suddenly decided they would run off their own elected local government officials, and kill off their neighbors rather than move a few miles.

If you researched history you would know said land became part of Ukraine in 1991.
Look up the Donetsk-Krivoy Rog Soviet Republic. Most people in that region never originally wanted to be part of Ukraine.

If you also look up maps of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania you will notice much of that region never belonged to the Grand Duchy either. Most of what is now known as Ukraine did though.

Historically they are a different region from Ukraine. Which is why when the illegal, western backed coup happened in 2014 Donetsk and Luhansk declared independence.

I thought you guys and gals were for freedom?

I just love how you and others hand pick certain dates in history to try to back up you side of the argument. It is rather funny. Should the decedents of the Great Khan claim all the territory he conquered as their own and invade those areas since they belonged to them at one point in history. What about Italy and their Roman empire? I am sure all that conquered land and resources would really help out the Italian people.

Uh. Did you look up what happened to your own reference? They were folded into the USR as an oblast. They didnt even last two full months, a much shorter time than Ukraine did, and never as an independent region or state. As soon as they joined the soviet union the russians decided they didnt want them and made them part of Ukraine.

God I love these examples. I can smell the desperation coming off these justifications hrough my phone.

So what would you have preferred? They revolted against the Soviets back then? We know how that would have likely turned out for them.

Notice how you didn't dispute my Grand Duchy of Lithuania reference. Historically that region has been separate from most of Ukraine. Just like Crimea has. Those are facts.

Then the illegal, western backed coup occurred in 2014 which in turn caused Donetsk and Luhansk to declare their independence. As you can see things change throughout history. Not sure why you "freedom lovers" are against them declaring their independence or determining their own fate. Honestly, you guys are being as totalitarian as you claim Putin is.
