Which battles did the Taliban win Brucey?
Lol. What specific major battles was the U.S. defeated in? Taliban KIA: over 50,000. U.S KIA: A little over 2,400. Yeah looks like the really mopped the floor with the Americans that held a 20:1 kill ratio!
A simple “none” would have sufficed instead of a long winded useless word salad that doesn’t answer the question BruceyThe Taliban didn't fight to win the battles. They fought to win the war. Just like in boxing, if you go as long as you can, get frustrated and say "no más," and climb out of the ring, you're the loser. We said no más and bailed out.
The same thing happened in Vietnam. I once watched a documentary where the late senator Max Cleland of Georgia talked about being present during the interrogation of an NVA colonel during the Vietnam War. American interrogators asked the colonel, "Who's winning the war?" The colonel answered, "You are." The next question was, "How long will it be before the war ends in US victory?" The colonel said, "The war isn't going to end in a US victory." An interrogator said, "Now wait. You just told us that we're winning the war!" The colonel said, "Yes, but you're going home!" At the end of telling this account, Cleland added that time proved the colonel correct.
But that wasn’t your assertion Brucey. Your claim was the Taliban defeated the US Military. By your own admission it never happened. The thing is, we couldn't stomach KIA #2401. The Taliban could stomach KIA #50001. We said no más and bailed out of the ring, whereas the Taliban could've easily gone 20 more years.

Bingo. And we really need to stop putting our military in the field while ham stringing them from dominating the landscape. The Taliban defeated the American people, just like the Viet Cong did.

Put them in, destroy every living thing that raises a hand in resistance and defiance, then immediately take them out. That is their only job they are not police officers.
I had someone argue with me a month or two ago when I said that the US fought the Taliban to a stalemate. Now you are taking it a step further and saying we outright lost. The Taliban won and the US military lost. The Taliban certainly didn't have better weapons. The Taliban definitely didn't have a bigger budget. But the Taliban definitely won the war and the United States military definitely lost.
You're probably one of the fans that says Derek Dooley was a better coach than Nick Saban and Urban Meyer, and our players were better too, but we lost our games for reasons unexplained, or because of the refs, or most likely the weather. You're probably going to continue to pout and say, "Well you just hate the Vols, and you're a Sabanista and you're on the Florida payroll too for saying Saban and Meyer were more competent than Derek Dooley!"
At least football is just a game. But Americans piss away so much of the USA's financial and human resources because we have too much pride to admit when we don't have what it takes. You can't even admit that the United States military lost to a bunch of "afghani cave dwellers" when the US military had everything that money could buy, but the enemy soldiers had everything money can't buy and that proved to be a lot more important in the end. They won, we lost, and most of the world realizes it. You're just going to be the last one to figure it out, assuming you ever figure it out.
You all seem to be caught up on this idea of soldiers running or retreating. Yet it still doesn't register in your neanderthal minds that a retreating soldier is still a living soldier. They sure scored a lot of battlefield victories against us didn't they?
The U.S. military crushed the Taliban and it wasn't even close. The defeated Taliban ran away while we spent trillions building schools and forming a government. Stupid 1940's style American thinking.
I have news for you though; if we had a small force over there still then the Taliban wouldn't have been able to just walk back into where ever they wanted to with out opposition. We'd still be there after close to a generation and still have our "victory". They had no way to defeat the U.S. military, so they had no choice but to sit, sulk, and wait for us to get tired of hanging out in their God forsaken country after we had beaten them.
And as your homies are finding out with their fresh new troops a surrendering soldier is a living soldier with a much better chance of staying that way. Well… as long as they’re not surrendering to your Russian orcsYou all seem to be caught up on this idea of soldiers running or retreating. Yet it still doesn't register in your neanderthal minds that a retreating soldier is still a living soldier.
Or George Washington's farewell address regarding foreign entanglements... or JQA about looking for monsters to destroy overseas.I agree the US government lost the war, but the military is government workers. I also agree about Eisenhower's farewell address and also recommend Smedley Butler's 1935 book War is a Racket.
That’s a great analogy. Many of us forget that the Ukraine is an incredibly corrupt country and probably not a good actor on the world stage, but they are fighting Russia so all is forgiven. I remember that they were suspected of being the country that supplied North Korea with its updated missile technology, not Russia or China. I also think they’ve shown how quickly they turn ungrateful with the insults thrown at Musk over Skylink. The West has to handle this carefully.
This is one of the most baffling phenomena I have seen since 2020. The only thing that can explain it is that these people's visceral hate for Russians is leading them to believe the very entities (or not believe, but co-sign) they have known to be untrustworthy in the past.
Saigon, Beirut and Kabul... we have no room at all to be boasting about Taliban or Russian retreats. They sure scored a lot of battlefield victories against us didn't they?

So the theme for today is: "The US won in Afghanistan and Russia is losing in Ukraine"...View attachment 500875
You guys drank the whole jug of Kool Aid if you think we won in Afghanistan. That's pretty laughable.
I bet we had similar kill ratios in Vietnam, Korea and Iraq.
The without provocation part is false. Shelling Donbas and not implementing Minsk ceasefire agreements over 8 years, while the West spends that time arming and training a pseudo-NATO army right on their border. What are we being lied to about?
Russia is invading a sovereign country without provocation, destabilizing and threatening western European allies, holding energy and food hostage and threatening nukes if they don't get their way.
Which of these things isn't true?
