War in Ukraine

They wouldn’t use them in an offensive capacity. Leaving the door open for a defensive strike, say to provide cover for one of Russia’s many strategic battlefield reorganizations (ie, retreats).
Well, outside of that last sentence, you at least acknowledge that they are not talking about using them offensively, which far better than the policy that the US and Israel have. I know we have people in this country that firmly believe in pre-emptive strikes and I sure Israel has the same. And to go a step further, we have people in our country that actually believe that we can win a pre-emptive/first strike war.

If the US and Russia engage in a nuclear exchange, there will be no winners. You are talking about the destruction of life on this planet.

That's why it is dangerous for The West (United States) to be openly throwing out these nuclear threats and/or provoking a nuclear power like Russia or China over regional disputes in their backyards.

The Taliban retreated and hid for 20 years. How did that turn out for them?

And again, while you are running them lips about retreats, I'll remind you of Saigon, Beirut and Kabul.

You mad, bro?

Why do you always throw out the bad behavior of the US as if it is somehow a defense for the bad behavior of Russia? Would it be ok for Russia to issue smallpox tainted blankets to Pussy Riot or Britney Griner since the US did it to the Cherokee 150 years ago?

If they launch another invasion from Belarus I don't think the target will by Kyiv. I think they will try and reach Lviv and try and cut off Western arms shipments.

The reason why I brought up the Taliban wasn't to defend Russia. It was to shine a mirror back on you to show you how ridiculous you sound. You are here popping off about retreats and probably giggling like a little school girl, meanwhile, the Taliban showed you how effective their 20 year retreat was.

Meanwhile, Saigon, Beirut and Kabul...

Well of course not. Now you are being really ridiculous. Nothing the Russians are doing right now in Ukraine approaches that.

Your analogy would work better if you had replaced small pox blankets with Monroe Doctrine. Would it be OK for Russia and China to want to have regional influence and deter foreign militaries from establishing themselves in neighboring countries since the US has that same policy?

Correct. If there is no response from NATO Russia will believe they can rattle their nuclear sabers and own Europe.
Russia, doesn't need nukes to beat NATO at this moment. They are demilitarizing themselves by sending weapons to Ukraine and the Russians have hypersonic conventional weapons and can take down communications and satellite systems.

They are not the ones bringing up nukes. The West is threatening to retaliate with nukes if Russia uses them. The problem is that Russia has never said they would use nukes offensively. Putin's mentioning of nukes was in reference to comments made by clowns like Biden and Liz Truss.
You really are lost in the woods aren't you?

So retreating fast is what winning looks like huh. This claim about NATO running out of weapons is nonsense. NATO has been prepared to handle any contingency for decades. I believe NATO has an answer for any foolish move Russia may attempt. Those hypersonic weapons. How many do you think Russia has? I would bet fewer than 20.

You think you’re making a point, but you’re really just bloviating and regurgitating your trite, pedantic “US bad” schtick.

This misadventure may be the undoing of the entire Soviet-esque Russian regime. As I've said before, a Russia with an elected form of government, it's resources and potential, and no interest in expansionist thinking would be an economic superpower in 5 years, tops.

Well they’re already an egg superpower.

If the US wouldn't lecture others about the very things they have done (or are doing right now) and use all kinds of double standards to defend their actions, then I wouldn't be able to criticize these guys so much.

Oh don’t sell yourself short Moe we all know you’ve got it in you.

But that wasn’t your assertion Brucey. Your claim was the Taliban defeated the US Military. By your own admission it never happened. 🤡

Americans boasting about "winning battles" when the Taliban definitely won the war are like Bama fans boasting about winning the total yardage battle, the time of possession battle, and the turnover margin battle yesterday when Tennessee definitely won the game. People who talk like that are just losers trying to cope due to their insecurities.

Lol. Just when you think you've seen it all in this thread.
Based on the time that he posted that, lets assume he was drunk or high after the game last night. No sober or sane person would blame the American people for LBJ being in office or the American people for killing JFK.

No one here has ever argued otherwise. But the fall of Saigon has nothing to do with current Russian aggression in Ukraine.
