U.S. buying arms from Guatemala to only barely hold onto 20% of an invasion of Colorado after prepping for a year.

Will be interesting to see if the Ukrainians can keep pulling off those drone attacks on airbases inside Russia. You know the Ruskies can't really afford to replace their B-1 ripoffs that were destroyed much less access the chips needed to build new ones.

Would have loved to get my hands on the B-1 just once. That has a low altitude terrain avoidance system that lets you set it at 50 feet off the ground doing 600 knots "burning chickens in the barnyard." (Gen. Buck Turgidson.)

It has been interesting to see the evolution of the nuclear bomber. Beginning with the too expensive to fly B-58 (the ultimate high speed bomber) through the B-1 the focus was high speed, low altitude, but with the radar evading designs of the 90's that ended and now it's a game of hide and seek at subsonic speeds. While I would enjoy seeing the high tech cockpits in action, for the flying experience, give me low and fast.

When I was about 10, I was in my front yard when a B-58 flew over our house with two fighters in tow at about 300 feet. It was incredible. Felt like the noise vibrated the organs in my body. We were near one of the entry points for low level training routes in the mountains so I guess they were heading there. They still use those routes. The F-18s come up from Jax or down from Oceana, run a 100 mile route and grab lunch over at McGhee Tyson. Since it's all public land they won't take out any houses if they make a mistake.

If you believe this is a proxy war then you must realize a war of attrition is a bad thing.

This gives the west a chance to build up capabilities. And the collective weight of the west is a lot more than Russia, especially with the embargoes.

The issue for the West is they are all suffering from a bad economy, supply chain issue and inflation and especially mismanagement in the United States. This war seems to be bankrupting us even more because we are led by nimrods who aren't making tough fiscal choices.

Mauripol is the only significant objective they still hold from their initial push.

But it forces the issue while we are at peace. We theoretically have time to adjust. But if we were at war, we wouldnt have time to adjust and would be in a much worse place.

And the issue for Russia is they’re suffering a worse economy regardless of what these idiot propagandists say and they have to mobilize onto a wartime footing and fight a war while they’re at it.
