The funny thing is with your argument of arming/training/logistic support being equal to invasion, the USSR invaded just as many countries as we did. If we were there fighting someone or backing a side the Soviets were doing the same on the other side.

Sometimes the US backed the established government, sometimes it was the Soviets. Sometimes the US backed the rebels, sometimes it was the Soviets. But we were always fighting the same proxy wars.

So again, as bad as we were, the Soviets were the same.

The only implied preference is simply from Russia invading Ukraine. Had Zelensky gone on the offensive there wouldnt be any big support. Russia is a bigger stronger country attacking its weaker neighbor. It's like watching a football game you dont particularly care about but you cheer for the underdog. Do you really support the underdog? Or is there temporary support while they play a bigger school? Obviously with the life and death situation of the real world, the nature of the support is going to be different than yelling at a screen.

Really, just remove russia, and all this percieved support of Ukraine, Zelensky,Nazis, Satan, will just go away.
