It does mean something but as we've seen in the past you can't just spend yourself into victory. Now with that said, the Russian armed forces are incompetent. Their officer corp is even more corrupt and incompetent than ours so they wouldn't stand a chance.
Everybody is that way. Seriously, go read any original media from any culture. Violence perpetrated everything. It's like sex. It sells.
We evolved having to fight and kill animals and each other to survive. We evolved as predators, its built into us. It's not a US issue.
Obviously, you read selectively. Otherwise, you'd have noted my original post on the matter acknowledged the very thing you said. Those who prefer to be blind, are. Good night for the nonce. As the world ever seen a great power, or even a regional or middling power, that didn't conduct themselves that way?
It's human nature. It's actually remarkable how much more civilized the world has become over the last 75 years than the preceding 5,000.
Another unsubstantiated attack on our military officers by Hog. I'm guessing the bulk of your military experience, if any, was spent on the carpet.
You know, those A-10 pilots who tore it up in Iraq/Afghanistan, sometimes bringing home a plane with half a wing, were all officers. I guess you think they sucked too. You may not want to say that to a vet who had 2-3 Warthogs save his a$$.
Anybody O4 and down in a combat or direct support role earns their keep. Even good loggie officers earn their keep. Too many REMFers starting at O5 and up playing more politics than war games. And what command decisions do pilots make? I do owe A-10 and AC-130 drivers a debt of gratitude.
You need to read the book Not a Good Day to Die by Sean Naylor and get back to us on the wonderful decisions made by Sr officers. They and their quest for legacy screwed up operation Anaconda about as bad as an operation could be screwed up. Cost several good men their lives.
Oh and I did my time.
I clicked back 5 posts, and every single one of them talked exclusively about "we" or the United States. To throw in that "we aren't alone" in being violent is an gigantic understatement...there isn't a single people who isn't violent. To go on and on about how violent the United States is just shows you have an axe to grind.Obviously, you read selectively. Otherwise, you'd have noted my original post on the matter acknowledged the very thing you said. Those who prefer to be blind, are. Good night for the nonce.

Yes there are. And I’ve seen many on the procurement side understand their job when they are government and then move to contractor. And act accordingly in both roles. I’ve just become jaded on the overt politics we all see that seems to follow O6 and higher, especially once they are in the swamp circuit.Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of good Os. The problem is they either get weeded out or start putting career politics ahead of their men somewhere around the move from O-4 to O-5. You can also be the biggest REMF to ever wear the uniform and still be a good officer.
