War in Ukraine

“Much of it had turned out false” is your idiocy starting to absorb just how much of “the list” is factual Russian incompetence you clueless stooge. You’re almost there Curly! 🤡
Lol. Much of it did turn out to be false. Like the Obese General who had rockstar like status in here, the Kremlin Coup, A-10 Warthogs, and all these diseases that Putin has. Like I said, you guys and gals can just continue right on with the nonsense. It's pure entertainment at this point.

I think we'd all agree that wars are negative events - something to be avoided. That said, there are some positives that some of us see, and others discount. That's life, and we all have and are entitled to our own opinions.

You mentioned earlier that China is our enemy; I agree. I've seen China as our real enemy well before it became fashionable. The disturbing point is how counties like China become the real problems, and that gets back to not dealing with problems before they become significant problems ... because we believe it's always wrong to initiate and wage conflicts or otherwise force concessions. People correctly analyzed Russia as a post WW2 threat, and left the threat to develop - which it did. Russia helped foster China, and then the world faced two threats.

If you stick solely with conventional weapons and threats, the West has pretty much bankrupted Russia, and then bankrolled China into a more serious threat ... ironically through commerce - a silly, stupid blunder you can attribute to corporate and political "leaders". Ironically we can believe in preventive and predictive measures in many fields such as industry and health, but it's absolutely a verboten topic with respect to military matters.

As far as Ukrainian corruption, it was a way of life under the Soviet system, and any ex-Soviet participant was tainted. That doesn't mean permanence. Could be that Ukrainian support by the US and European nations can change that - alliances in time of need do change people. We'll see. I see Ukrainian support as being a positive in several ways; they've been pointed out repeatedly, and some of you reject them. We don't have to agree on everything, and ironically on this matter some of us (including me) wind up disagreeing with people we normally side with on political matters.

I think you and several others disagree from a cost standpoint; that's fine. I happen to think conservatism is dead, and we would simply waste what we are spending on Ukraine in different ways and accomplish less with the spending. I tend to see one aspect of supporting Ukraine as a down payment toward neutralizing Russia - almost 80 years too late and without real thought, but the blind squirrel stumbles across an acorn from time to time.
I completely understand the desire to not send such large resources abroad when we have so many issues at home. I don’t understand the listing this as another indirect proxy war with our perpetual rival. Russia is in a REAL war of their own choosing and they are getting mauled by a honey badger they mistook as a kitten. We will not pass up the chance to help them self destruct and maybe Patton will finally get his wish

Now this is the biggest piece of BS I've seen written. Israel and Ukraine have shown themselves to be biggest drains of US foreign aid out here. And they also have shown that they do occasionally need others to assist or in some cases try to drag the US into their fights with staged false flags (USS Liberty and the Ukrainian missiles in Poland).

Michael Brodsky: Can Ukraine become a 'big Israel'?

In my interviews with the Ukrainian media, I’m often asked which recommendation I can give Ukraine based on the Israeli experience. Usually, I refer to the following five points:

  • Democracy first. Despite the ongoing war against terror and security threats, Israel remains a free and democratic country. One of the main achievements of Ukraine over the years of independence is political liberty and freedom. It is of paramount importance to preserve this achievement despite the war.
  • Rely on yourself. Israel’s security doctrine is based on the principle that Israel will defend itself, by itself—and rely on no other country to protect its independence. Ukraine, like Israel, should learn to rely on itself with regard to its security. In order to achieve this, Ukraine should develop a smart army, a modern security industry, and strong intelligence capabilities.
  • Encourage technological development and innovations. The technological training many Israelis receive in the military contributes to a civilian innovation ecosystem, which promotes the development of new security technologies. Ukraine has plenty of talented IT specialists. Some of them even work for Israeli tech companies. The transition of technologies from the military to the civilian sphere can contribute tremendously to the technological development of the country.
  • Fight corruption. Without a true and uncompromising war against corruption, any international efforts to rebuild Ukraine will be doomed to fail. One of the most urgent steps the Ukrainian government will have to make is to conduct a serious reform of the judicial system.
  • Enhance your ties with the Ukrainian diaspora. In Israel’s history, the diaspora has always played a very significant role in supporting our security and economic development. There are strong and supportive Ukrainian diasporas throughout the world, including Israel, and Ukraine should learn how to utilize this enormous asset for its own benefit.

I think I posted a link awhile back regarding Zelensky's desire to be a big Israel and create a massive security state. Of course the crush on Zelensky is at an all time level in this thread that the Ukrainiacs will just ignore it.

All these HIMARS are doing is causing more casualties and they will eventually be destroyed. And Russia will respond by killing more of your beloved Ukrainians who are being used by the West. We are throwing money down the drain because of this conflict and ignoring our own problems at home. But by all means continue this cult like support for Ukraine.

Russia can’t kill HIMARS because their counter battery artillery doesn’t have the range, they don’t have air superiority, they’re running out of Iranian drones and the computer chips they’re sourcing from China have a 90%+ failure rate.

You are also ignoring the Japanese atrocities that occurred in China before and during WW2. Which also lead to the rise of Communism in China.
Lol. What about Budhisms impact on the formation of Chinese Governments? Or the Oppium wars? More deflection.

Communism was around, and a major player, in China before 1936 when the Japanese got started. Heck, Maos long March was 1934. Not sure when Mao/communism gets separated from the clique it arose from but you can probably add at least another decade of predating the Japanese.

We are talking about who built the nation not the government.

I believe they can get to 100 by March.

LMAO the gibberings of a true Pootin nut hugger. We’ve been hearing about the demise of HIMARS for months. It appears to be greatly exaggerated 😂

Lol. Pacer was right. You would argue with a stop sign.

Ukraine now retaking the left (south) side of Kherson.

Sucks to be Russian.

I mean dang are they publicizing every small victory.

I couldnt even find a listed size for the island because of how small it is, and they only have the northern portion of it? Doing some quick google earth back of the napkin math it's less than 15 square miles, not even accounting for the weird shape.

I could understand bragging about taking the whole island back as there is a population there, but it sounds like they ran a squad over on a Zodiak and didnt encounter any immediate resistance.

True.

Looking forward to the next big counteroffensive by Ukraine. Looks like the ground will finally freeze this weekend. Thinking Russian troops in Tokmuk gonna be hating life.
