Most Russians don’t want war, most Ukrainians and US don’t want war. Most people in this entire world don’t want war. But when another country tries to take your way of life and kill you. You fight back. Sometimes you have friends who help.

On the Ukrainian side, it is logistically significant to that area of their front. It was also quite fortified which made it an attractive place to defend.

On the Russian side, it is significant politically in the ongoing power struggle between Wagner and the DoD.

Meh... reasonable response. I think you are understating its importance, however.

There's been plenty of videos of the Ukrainian military dragging men from their homes and even one the other day where they were dragging someone off the street.

When did Ukraine invade Korea, Vietnam, or Iraq Moe? I’d guess some Ukrainians were in the Soviet army that lost in Afghanistan tho.

Both the 155th and 40th Naval Infantry Brigades got savaged at Vuhledar with the 155th being basically dissolved as an effective fighting force. In one week they lost 130 armored vehicles of which 36 were tanks.

Russia’s losses around Vuhledar renew questions about its ability to sustain a fresh offensive.

Most of what you posted here was not conventional warfare. This is absolutely...... Russia was supposed to have the advantage here against a conventional foe. But they do not, so far they have been fought into a quagmire by a smaller force. Russia has thrown what amounts to their full conventional might against Ukraine with little to show for it.

It's still possible. He is attempting to marginalize Wagner. It could be because he fears their influence and if they can be controlled. It's certainly a possibility.

The only way it is possible is if he is too weak with respect to Ukraine, not the other way around. Welcome to reality.
