War in Ukraine

Why? Because of your Cold War biases?

Its not about what you agree with. Its about dealing with the situation as it is. Official US police recognizes Beijing, not Taipei, as the head of One China.
Yes but it also only acknowledges China's claim over Taiwan, but doesn't recognize China's control of Taiwan, simply because China (PRC) has never controlled Taiwan. The One China policy states very clearly that China's (PRC) sovereignty only goes as far as its control. So if PRC peacefully annexed Taiwan, the US wouldn't balk. But come to violence, and there are some very specific terms under the TRA which is part of our One China Policy. There is a huge difference in PRC's One China Policy, and the US's One China Policy, so much so that the PRC has actively tried to change the translation multiple times, despite the terms being agreed upon.

"The TRA sets forth the American Institute in Taiwan as the corporate entity dealing with U.S. relations with the island; makes clear that the U.S. decision to establish diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China rests upon the expectation that the future of Taiwan will be determined by peaceful means; considers any effort to determine the future of Taiwan by other than peaceful means, including by boycotts or embargoes, a threat to the peace and security of the Western Pacific area and of grave concern to the United States; mandates that the United States make available defensive arms to Taiwan; and requires that the United States maintain the capacity to resist any resort to force or other forms of coercion that would jeopardize the security, or the social or economic system, of the people on Taiwan."

For someone who keeps talking about America’s China policy, Ras seems to know quite little about America’s China policy.
typical for him. He makes biased claims and hopes that no one facts check him. He does tend to get fixated on names of things having more meaning than the contents.

Yeah LMAO at Belarus holding a free election.

Lukashenko is the guy who taught Democrats how to count votes. Real hard to lose when you keep firing the election officials who count your votes. Also real convenient that he is technically the head of who gets to count the votes as well. and also gets to arrest all his main opponents. I think he had three arrested DURING the campaign.

I am not surprised that you WOULDN'T question his chief opposition going from 60% of the vote before the night, and then waking up with 10%.

Ah so the orcs are finally recognizing the ISW’s analysis good, progress. Here is the whole link

Institute for the Study of War

Ukrainian forces may be temporarily pausing counteroffensive operations to reevaluate their tactics for future operations.Head of the Estonian Defense Forces Intelligence Center Colonel Margo Grosberg stated on June 16 that he assesses "we won't see an offensive over the next seven days.”[7]The Wall Street Journal similarly reported on June 17 that Ukrainian forces “have mostly paused their advances in recent days” as Ukrainian command reexamines tactics.[8] These reports are consistent with ISW’s recent observations of the scale and approach of localized Ukrainian counterattacks in southern and eastern Ukraine.[9] ISW has previously noted that Ukraine has not yet committed the majority of its available forces to counteroffensive operations and has not yet launched its main effort.[10] Operational pauses are a common feature of major offensive undertakings, and this pause does not signify the end of Ukraine’s counteroffensive.

Additionally here is the next paragraph in their update. I’m guessing you won’t like this one so much.

A Wall Street Journal (WSJ) interview with Russian prisoners of war (POWs) indicates continued significant morale and command issues among frontline Russian units and the continued Russian use of “barrier forces” to shoot retreating soldiers.[11]WSJ amplified the statements of three unidentified Russian POWs who voluntarily surrendered to Ukrainian forces during Ukrainian counteroffensive operations near Velyka Novosilka, on the administrative border between Donetsk and Zaporizhia oblasts. The POWs reported widespread fear of a Ukrainian counteroffensive among Russian forces on the frontlines. The POWs indicated that the Russian military command sees Russian conscripts and penal recruits as expendable, and claimed Russian officers order injured personnel deemed unfit for service back to the front line and use “barrier forces” to prevent penal recruits in “Storm-Z” units from retreating. Barrier forces are specialized units that threaten to shoot their own personnel either to prevent retreats or to force them to attack, and unverified social media footage recently circulated depicting Russian barrier troops shooting retreating Russian forces in Ukraine.[12] The POWs also indicated that Russian forces struggle to supply and staff their units, including struggling to crew tanks and armored vehicles.[13]The POWs expressed concern about returning to Russia in a POW exchange due to Russian laws prohibiting voluntary surrender to the enemy.

Title is a bit click baity, because they are making parts for tanks and upgrades, just not making all new ones anymore.

High in the Urals, the Omsk tank plant stops producing Russian tanks

And here I was thinking Russia had all types of production going. But only one manufacturer is making whole tanks. Seems like a lot of eggs in one basket.

"This made it the most active tank factory globally and the sole tank producer in the former Soviet Union."

AAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! 🤣🤡

how would dropping the fuel tanks on the wings result in the tail falling off? That sounds like a pretty suspect claim. Do they have video of that?

it is interesting that this seems to be the one place where the russians have a more complicated system than us. Seems we had a fair number back in the 70s and 80s, especially for the navy, and then we dropped them. cost and maintenance being the main issues sited.

Yes it’s in the video link. I looked at it in slomo and blown up to be sure but you see the drop tanks falling away along with the tail empennage all together. There is no evidence of a weapon strike that I saw. What a flying pile of junk 🤷‍♂️

Also the CH-47 is still the heavy lift / transport helo of choice for the US. It doesn’t have coaxial counter rotating mains but rather separated mains rotating in the same direction. Result is the same, torque cancellation.

yeah I know the Chinooks, and the Osprey's have them, but not the co-ax, you need the blades to spin in different directions off of one shaft. at least when you split it you are individually powering/driving them.

I didn't watch the videos, but both yours and his looked to be the same, same overall time and same starting view. did I miss another?

so wait, you are bragging about Russia having to buy ammo from the US/West now?

1. I thought the west didn't produce anything now.
2. I thought Russia made all its own stuff
3. I thought all the western stuff was crap?
1. .338 isn't a common NATO round and you know that. So it isn't a round that is in high military demand compared to 5.56, 2.23 or 7.62X51
2. Russia doesn't mass produce this particular round and you know that
3. A lot of it is, but even a the Russians are not going to ignore a good thing when the see it

Now you know that is BS. Let's see what happens in next year's elections next year and holler back at me.
