War in Ukraine

All the BRICS are wanting to do is have fair, mutually beneficial trade with each other without all of the nonsense pf sanctions and stipulations regarding "human rights", green energy, LGBTQIP+, etc.

How is that subverting the G20?
Yeah, human rights are dumb.... Rape culture and killing people because you disagree with their lifestyles are where it's at!

If that were the case, then I might agree with you in part. This is much more about building a rival organization while remaining a member of the original organization with the intent to subvert it. Russia and China learned very well what being a UN member with veto power brings them. They are largely able to act badly with impunity by vetoing any UN resolutions to counter their actions. Maybe you just don't see a parallel.

Beltway liberal elites, Blumenthal asserted, still think Russia must be punished given they see Moscow as having brought the "bad orange man" to power in 2016. This is a big ideological aspect to what motivates the hawks, he said.

Further, Blumenthal explained that what's happening here is that the US ruling class has "militarized the culture wars while depicting Ukraine as the 'woke side' vs. Russia as backwards and oppressive."

As a person who dorsn't have an affinity to either party this is hilarious.

From the beginning Russia has attributed the need to fight Ukraine a fight for cultural values against Nazis, and drug addicted gay promoting heathens.....

That tells me everything I need to know about this desperate attempt at misinformation.

It's one of the things that makes me chuckle the most. RAS and co saying well what about US propaganda? Sure there is US propaganda. However, imagine thinking so little of your populace that the "we must protect you from Gay Nazis" is what's trotted out. Good lord.

How will they subvert the G20 or G7 when they have no regulatory power? And again, is free trade without fear of sanctions subversion? Where are the laissez-faire capitalists in the G20?

Does having veto power make them a threat? Are they just supposed to rubber stamp everything that the US pushes?

And anyways, even with Russia and China on the UNSC, that hasn't stopped the US from acting unilaterally on any military actions we've wanted to do. Talking about "acting badly"...

It's funny that Russian shills try to push the "we are fighting Nazis" meme reason for invading Ukraine, while simultaneously trying to court support from actual Nazis by playing the "scary Jews" card any chance they get.

That was just a Russian deflection from the lust for Ukrainian soil as nothing more than a good old fashioned land grab by a bully state. Russians trying to gift wrap an unpolished turd in fancy wrapping paper with fake gold ribbon - totally in line with a new Dzerzhinsky statue (if true) signifying a return to the old ways.

Hey @Rasputin_Vol you a betting she/they? When Ukraine drives to the Sea of Azov and then blows the Kerch Bridge to bits, how long until Russia surrenders all of Crimea?

The under/over is 3 months.

As usual, our solution will be a half million dollar weapon to take out a $500 drone before it can destroy a $9M tank. There are real lessons to be learned on this battlefield, and I wonder if we are paying attention.
My BIL is in a fast response unit. He says they are refocusing on their techniques and a lot more electronic warfare. The abrams are currently undergoing very advanced jamming capabilities and also certain coverings for tanks. Says the technology is there it’s just getting personnel trained on using and maintaining.
