War in Ukraine

Well it got him screwed up the arse. Now he likely was anyway. But he didn't help himself.

How? It's pretty clear that Trump was never on board with any sort of agreement in the first place. He wasn't going to continue aid before this meeting, he's not going to do so afterwards. The only change is we got to watch Trump and Vance make fools of themselves on on an international stage, and every other country that does business with us is taking note how shortsighted and transactional US foreign policy is now.

Assume you were in that position what would you do?There really is only two choices, he's just being blunt about it. He keeps telling them the same thing but Europe and the Mad Jester need to extend this and get the U.S. involved, there is no plan past that.... so they are acting like they don't know.

"Pretty please"

The midget made it too obvious, they're not going to sign any agreement with the Russians.
I would behave diplomatically in public. In private I would be blunt if needed. But this was ambush diplomacy for reality TV.......... Not the way to do business.

If a recession is coming, it’s not the Republicans fault. Hard to cause a recession in less than 2 months.
Nice pivot.

Blame everything negative happening during the Biden administration on Biden, even thought inflation started under Trump.
Then, turn around and blame economic conditions under Trump on the previous administration.

Yep. Sounds about right in the knucklehead way of thinking.

I don't fault him for it, he's fighting for his countries existence at this point. He was promised cooperation and commitment from the prior admin and it churned too long for the public and support waned.

He's been put in a terrible position and just walked into an ambush by the people that are going to try to negotiate a ceasefire and peace plan.

Part of me wonders if Trump strategy is to make Zelenski want us out and bring Europe in to the lead and try to negotiate this.

No, both the Europeans and the midget need the war to continue. Neither of those parties want an end, but if they don't end it.... they lose it all. There is no plan for them to win the war, never was.

He's another issue I was thinking about last night..... And this one has been brewing for some time......

One of the issue we have as a country, foreign diplomacy wise, is that our government changes so often. Priorities change under executive order and foreign policy.

The problem is as I see that our partners or potential partners are going to have a difficult time deciding to commit to agreements with us unless they are absolutely binding. One president does A, the next wants B.

Another reason we are likely to lose prestige worldwide among partners.

In this conflict, as well as with the Israeli conflict weak leadership led to weakened status and magnified chinks that adversaries were able to exploit.

So far I think Trump is doing a decent job of doing what he said he would do....... But I think he's gone about it in harsh damaging ways, damaging to us, to him and to his parties chances of being successful in the next elections.

It has always been the case that a new administration can change course. And its not like this one was unexpected. Foreign leaders and even members of the GOP here at home warned everyone for two years that Trump would back Putin and abandon Ukraine if he were elected.

Let's not pretend this is some kind of recent development or surprise.

He tried to strong arm them, Vance was right. You don't come in the Oval Office and do that.

What he admitted to was that he would never sign a deal with the Russians, so what the hell are we doing than.... wasting time?

So the only option is to stop sending money that will do nothing or go fight a war? You going?

When has Ukraine ever asked the US government to send the US military to fight the Russians invading their land?

Cite your sources.

I swear, you guys would have cheered on the Axis powers if Trump were president, and told you to; absolutely zero objective thought from MAGA.

I'm not pretending anything. I'm looking bigger picture down the road.... Not even taking about this conflict in particular.

How much more backing does Ukraine need? We have backed them for years to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars. Do we just continue to do that forever? It’s not a winnable war without a full fledge World War 3. Is that what you want?

But open an unlimited piggy bank with only one certain outcome? WTF do you think is going to happen if they don’t make a deal or someone else doesn’t get involved? I would ask are you really that dumb but it would be rhetorical.

They never have a plan, they never say how much it worth either in money, resources, time or lives. Its always, "our friends". They wouldn't be in that position if they are friends. 🤷‍♂️

It's never been an "open an unlimited piggy bank", and you know this. If we'd given them all the weapons they'd asked for, in in the quantities they needed, the war would be over and Russia would have left like they did Chechnya the fist time they invaded.

You guys always trot out nonsense and outright falsities to justify Trump catering to Putin's desires, under the guise of "peace" and faux concern for Ukrainians, because in reality, you have zero legitimate grounds to base your support of Russia on, other than, "Trump does, so I do."

MAGA is the epitome of "sheeple".
