Sorry McGill, but that ship has sailed. With Mercedes coming out with a 450 mile battery and more improvements ahead, the world is going electric.
But you haven't seen the real disruption yet. A huge number of automobile systems (fuel systems, water systems) just are not necessary in electrics. So those manufacturers will be hammered not to mention maintenance of those systems which means mechanics losing jobs. There's nothing you can do to reverse this, but the powers that be need to start planning for this displacement.

I don't think there is anything liberal about Elon Musk and he is the godfather of the industry, at least for now.
