War in Ukraine

Sorry McGill, but that ship has sailed. With Mercedes coming out with a 450 mile battery and more improvements ahead, the world is going electric.
But you haven't seen the real disruption yet. A huge number of automobile systems (fuel systems, water systems) just are not necessary in electrics. So those manufacturers will be hammered not to mention maintenance of those systems which means mechanics losing jobs. There's nothing you can do to reverse this, but the powers that be need to start planning for this displacement.

BTW the way, you blame "lefty green commie scumbags idiots."

I don't think there is anything liberal about Elon Musk and he is the godfather of the industry, at least for now.

You're describing progress.

We'll see how far the world gets down the path to EV paradise before realizing China has been slowly building hotels on every spot in the world where rare earth minerals are mined.

Can't make this up. These are the people ruling over us.

FEMA: In Case Of Nuclear Explosion, Maintain Social Distancing And Wear A Mask | ZeroHedge

FEMA recommends the following steps to prevent 'significant radiation exposure,' which include "Try to maintain a distance of at least six feet between yourself and people who are not part of your household," and "If possible, wear a mask if you're sheltering with people who are not part of your household."

But whatever you do, remember to wear your mask and practice social distancing while you hopefully avoid a painful cancerous death.

No, that higher gas prices eventually will price in the economy of energy alternatives that are no economically viable. And I think over time what we see in such situations is that as producers prepare to fill that need, the costs come down. See e.g. battery technology for EVs.
You think our grid can handle it?

Why am I a traitor?
Because lots of people think they're the good guys all the time.

Again, blows my mind how they'll condemn our government here at home but the moment that government goes on the offensive you're a traitorous scumbag for not immediately jumping on board. No wonder a war is good for the incumbent party.

Volodymyr Zelensky's Praise for Mail as Ukrainian President says media coverage means the whole world can see result of Vladimir Putin's actions

  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the Daily Mail on Instagram
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky took to Instagram yesterday to hail the Daily Mail for its coverage of Ukraine.

The Mail’s Saturday front page, which splashed ‘Kyiv, the city of courage’, was the first paper he chose to include in a series of images from UK newspapers shared on social media.

The post, which had more than 750,000 likes and nearly 22,000 comments, also included the front pages from the Daily Mirror, The Sun and The Daily Telegraph.

At some point this guy needs to have his bluff called. If it's not he'll keep doing it, bully's need to be smacked in the mouth.

Holding nukes over the worlds head while he rapes and pillages should be a non starter. No one wants nuclear war, but you can't have the POS threatening this every time some one doesn't do what he wants.

Agree but a full pullout from Ukraine would solve the situation. Let him know that if he gets 100% out of Ukraine under none of his Russian terms, we drop the sanctions.

It's still a temporary solution to a permanent problem. Putin demands are no NATO, no military.

He believes he has that authority with Ukraine and will look to keep doing that with other Soviet Era countries.

He needs to pay for what he's done - people made fun of the sanctions, the pain doesn't happen overnight. It takes a little time, he needs to feel it. His people need to feel it. Perhaps regime change could come from within.

Putin only understands street brawls, he's a thug in a suit. I have a feeling this ends with him getting ousted or the world being turned into a sheet of glass.

In my scenario, we don't make any promises, Ukraine in NATO is still allowed.
