War in Ukraine

I am not watching anything but no sane person can claim that Russia had no choice in invading, that is ridiculous. It is quite clear the Ukranian military posed no threat whatsoever the Russian government. It's a ridiculous argument as is the argument that there are fascist groups in Ukraine. I am sure there are just like every nation on Earth.
Once again where did I say the invasion was okay or justified?

The United States has sent such "diplomats" like John McCain and Victoria Nuland who were pushing for regime change. Both Russia and western countries have been meddling in Ukraine for quite some time now. Maybe Ukraine didn't need any other country meddling in their affairs and would have been just fine.

It's a red herring to this invasion.

Heh, I should win the interwebs today. lol

Probably

Once again. Never said the invasion was okay. But people are acting like Ukraine and the west have been completely innocent in this ordeal over the years. They have not. That's the only point I'm trying to make.

Anyways. You guys continue watching CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News. I'll keep praying for all the innocent people involved.

As far as I know Ukraine hasn't shown any aggression towards Russia. Yes it is a country with a history of corruption but so is ours.

They’re being killed because they’re drawn into a war Russia started.

Wait, you don’t actually believe the “genocide in the Donbas” crap, do you?

This has absolutely been going on. For years. A lot of nasty things have happened there, and people that live there will attest to it. Ukrainians have been taking out Russian speaking people who preferred to be a state under Russia. I believe the Chechnya forces and some of Russia’s elite military units have been fighting as the opposition.

The tension between Russia and Ukraine didn’t just suddenly happen. It’s been building for a while.

You can 100% disagree and condemn the choices Putin has made in dealing with Ukraine while still acknowledging some of the inconvenient history of how we got here.

Didn't say the government of Ukraine was fascist. I said there were fascist groups in Ukraine. Learn how to read.

By the way. Fascism and National Socialism are two different ideologies.

One has to begin splitting hairs to make the distinction, though. Both are found on technocratic premises of creating a better nation via the social control of production, distribution, pricing and wages without nationalization. One has a racial component the other lacks, both are nationalist and obviously socialist variants. It can't be argued one enjoys moral high ground over the other. It can be argued they're an evolution and a better version of socialism, if one must have socialism.

Most people aren't aware that Hitler very much admired Ataturk and wanted Germany to resemble what Ataturk created in Turkey.

Genocide? Got any evidence?

I can agree with that statement. However while reading this thread I've noticed many people are in complete denial they exist and have existed in Ukraine for a long time.
Of course they do, as they do in virtually every European country including Russia.

FDR, Hemingway, JFK, Churchill, MacArthur and others were admirers as well. Hitler admired FDR - admirer of Stalin and Mussolini - and American progressives inspired some Nazi theory.

If one isn't discrete, the lines can be blurred to suit narratives.

I actually don’t think it meets the definition of genocide. My point is, the Ukraine military has been killing their citizens who wanted to break away from Ukraine and become a Russia state.

It’s one of many big points of tension between Russia and Ukraine that has been ongoing for years.

Even if Russia wins this thing they still lose economically and internationally. Of corse he can feel threatened by Ukraine and NATO, but this was a badly miscalculated move to invade. Putin really f’ed this up.

He has managed to alienate Russia from the rest of the world, destabilize Europe, and turn his people against him.

And even if he manages to take Ukraine, it will be temporary. He’ll likely be dealing with a insurgency for years to come. Huge miscalculation.

Pray he doesn’t feel cornered and go nuclear to break the people’s will and send a message to the West. It wouldn’t surprise me at this point.
