War in Ukraine

I agree, but I identified this as a problem about 20 years ago. We're going to have even bigger issues when China cuts off pharmaceuticals, rare earth metals, and a ton of parts that we need to repair and maintain manufacturing and military equipment. U.S. corporate and government leadership have created huge levels of risk due to ignorance and greed.

That is false. Baghdad for one.

We hit Hiroshima because of inaccurate bomb sights. Ok.

Maybe we sold him some of those bad bomb sights. I don’t know what Putin’s goals are and neither does anyone else. Anyone claiming to know is lying or guessing at best.

Please show where I justified Putin invading Ukraine or are you just making strawman arguments?

I guess we should have sacrificed millions of US soldiers invading Japan so you can sleep better at night not to mention millions of Japanese civilians. I suggest you research Operation Downfall. Clearly you don’t know the definition of razed if you think that’s what we did to Baghdad.

This is the thing. I may not like it but yes the sanctions will fade in time, sooner than we expected probably. Meanwhile Russia will rule Ukraine. Nations will do business with them because Russia has stuff they want.

Nope. Russia loses even if they win conventionally.

Ukraine will never accept Russian rule.

Plus I think the sanctions will crack Russia.

I'm sorry but you won't find a bigger hawk when it comes to Russia. I am also liberal. So when you say something like "the left does not like to discuss . . . " you're really full of crap. I get tired of people on here (not saying this is you, explaining why I am irritated by these statements). I've found over the years that the people who describe themselves as patriots never bothered to serve in the military. There were a lot of liberals who served with me and they don't deserve these negative comments.

I served in the military, the modern liberal is really a communist. You guys have supported more dictatorships than (true) conservatives will ever.

More strawman arguments. Things never said for 1000 Alex.

I don’t think you even know what you are saying. What were you implying by bringing up Hiroshima? It wasn’t conventionally bombed. Baghdad wasn’t razed, what other incorrect facts about history are you going to attempt to bring up today? You should probably sit this one out

What happens if Russia decides its only going to take SE part of the country, and withdraws from the rest? Then how long are the sanctions going to hold up?

I’m not going to

ok Baghdad suffered major destruction but not every building was destroyed.
As for Hiroshima, it was your response that American bombing of civilians was largely due to bad equipment. You said that. Are you using strawman arguements because you can’t remember what you said?

I don't disagree with the sanctions if it's the only weapon available to us - and it seems to be, but I do disagree with those in the loop as profiteers.
At some point, it will come to be realized that this conflict has nothing to do with the Ukrainian people. The Biden family activities in that country should tell you this. It is not only for staging future activities for Russia, but also propping up a corrupt state where drug running, weapons shipping to the Middle East, energy siphoning and other financial crimes.

Meh, we could have let the Red Army handle Japan by that point. They were within days of a Japanese invasion.
