The fact that this guy isn't seeing the field at all given the struggles of the other receivers is beyond ridiculous. We need to actually rotate bodies at that position until we find some guys who can perform when the lights are on.

This team could have put up 40+ points if not for the numerous drops. They spend all year talking about how deep and talented they are then play the same four guys.

had 20 snaps in Kentucky game. his play is increasing. His performance is not.. He needs to keep working...

Matthews got a decent amount of reps but no real opportunities. They went to him once but the defense was on top of him before he could do anything. They need to get better about giving guys a chance to make plays in games. If Cam Seldon isn't hurt then he will likely transfer, MM could be right behind him.

Heupel mentioned post game he needs to get healthy and get out there. Sounds like he is still "dinged".

I know it’s a different position but I remember reading about the same frustration with Sampson his freshman year and people worried he would transfer. Matthews just needs time. He’s just a freshman and was apparently hurt throughout fall camp so he missed a ton of practice and development time.

Tbh, that's one thing that I worry about with our recruiting. We are way too loyal with upperclassmen who aren't producing and not giving highly rated recruits more playing time.

Well, think about it. The coaches see the players during practice every week, so it ain't like they don't know how a player is doing as far as knowing the playbook. Matthews will get his time, as soon as he gets better at knowing the plays and 100% effort on every play.

Nimrod made a few good plays early but that dropped TD was egregious. I do wonder if MM makes that catch.

CJH has never gone deep in his WR rotation. MM is the backup to Bru and appears to have bypassed Webb for that spot. Thornton and Brazzzell have the other side locked down. Thornton is obviously not 100% so the rotation with Brazzell is higher. Bru and Thornton are gone next year that leaves MM to start, don't believe he will be going anywhere. That gives him 2-3 years to put up Hyatt numbers and go play on Sunday's. MM,White and Brazzell will be the big 3 next year with Nimrod and Staley working in. Hopefully MM will keep working and have the dog in him like Bru and JJ.

It has nothing to do with "thinking for yourself". That's a remarkably stupid comment. Whether YOU like it or not, neither you nor I see practice every day as Heupel does. I know I know at least as much as you, but neither one of us know as much as him. We don't have the same info stream. This isn't making a facking life decision for either one of us.

Exactly, also its just not Heupel making the decision its a group of coaches get together and discuss their options and then the final decision is usually on the HC but he is trusting all of the guys he hired for input. Now Milton & Guarantano where great practice players. On the other hand, Hooker was a gamer when he finally got in you couldn't get him out. So they must think MM could be a gamer that's why they are playing him some. He caught 1 pass and made a good block and whiffed on one. I think he should keep getting chances and next week vs Miss State he could go in and make some great catches I hope so we need all the help going through the final schedule run
