Since Spurrier owns him, then why did he not win the 2001 game. That was the most meaningful game that either of them coached against each other. The game in September never really decides the East division because it is so early in the season. But the 2001 game was for all the marbles since it was in December. I wonder why a coach would not choose to win this game if he owns the other coach.
I guess that's what happened this year against South Carolina, the game just wasn't meaningful enough.

That was a great win for Fulmer no question. But getting beat 2 weeks in the SEC champ. game when you had the opportunity to play for an NC if you win, was very disappointing.

Quit being so personal with everyone. He asks a good question. But wait, Tennessee won that game, so I guess that means Florida 01, wasn't that great of a team either. Nevermind the BCS bowl they were in.

I thought we weren't gonna allow this type of personal bashing of Fulmer?

See, the funny thing is, the only legitimate thing you and those like you have on Phil is his weight, and the more of that he loses, the less you have against him.

I didn't say Florida 04 was a jaugernaut. The point is, EVERYONE Tennessee beats is less than special in your eyes, BECAUSE Tennessee beat them. To me, thats the view of a non-fan. Earlier today you said that you were at an OU-TX game when Tennessee beat Georgia. I dunno about the rest of the FANS here, but I go to, or watch Tennessee's games. I don't go to other team's games....oh wait, but you've confesed that OU is "one of" your teams. Congrats, they are supposed to be front-runners again this year, so I guess you can go watch them.
I'll take a trip to Dallas over a stop in a hick dump like Athens every time.

I guess you meant "2 weeks later" but that game wasn't two weeks later, it was 7 days later. You're awful rusty on your Vol history tonight.

one week learlier does that make the loss more palatable to you? you place more importance on when the game was played then who won.

If you think him attempting to elevate TCHFCATUTK to equal footing with Spurrier because of one game is reasonable, I'll let you guys go on. I can only hope you guys are the voice of the pro-TCHFCATUTK movement.

ahh, such a good response hatevol, when something is said that you can't handle you come back with such a great response.

Also, if I am the new winner of the "Most Ridiculous Post of All Time", then I only have to win this title 5,400 more times and I will be tied with you.

I HATE UGA; EVERYTHING about them actually, but Athens is one of the best Gameday Atmosphere's in COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

But I guess going to all those Oklahoma and Miami games, you haven't noticed.

No. The magnitude of implying that Spurrier and Fulmer are remotely equivalent outstrips anything anyone could possibly say here. Claiming the earth is flat would be a distant second on the laughability scale.

Yeah, OU-Texas. Terrible atmosphere. Miami-FSU in the Orange Bowl at night. Like a trip to the library. You're hilarious.

No, it SUCKS that Tennessee lost, but when two main starters fumble the ball away late in the game, I don't think you fire your WINNINGEST ACTIVE HEAD COACH OF THE WINNINGEST PROGRAM IN THE SEC OVER THE LAST TEN YEARS (Added because I know how you guys LOVE those two stats.) Because the game was lost.

Tennessee was riding a HUGE wave of emotion. It happens all the time in sports. ALL sports. I don't need to make excuses for them, they earned their way there, and they laid an egg on the field with their performances. But, I don't want to fire the coach because of it either.

I never said they were equivalent, I was just challenging your claim that Spurrier owned Fulmer. If he owned him, then why did he not win the biggest game they ever competed in against each other?

Athens=A pathetic, southern fried city trying to imitate Austin.

I didn't say those places were bad atmospheres. But as a TENNESSEE FAN. I have NO DESIRE TO SEE THEM OVER THE VOLS.

That's the whole thing in a nutshell. You are a "College Football fan", not a TENNESSEE VOLS fan.

That's your right, just quit pretending you are the number one fan because you are "the self proclaimed voice of reason". Spare us all.

I love that stat because pretty soon you can modify it to say the WINNINGEST UNEMPLOYED HEAD COACH IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

No. I simply recognize there's a world outside the borders of the state of Tennessee. Check it out. It's pretty neat.

Saw Tennessee play football there in '88, 92, and '96. Made the trip for basketball a couple of time when KO was the coach. I'd love to buy the Athens music scene for what it's actually worth and sell it for what the bubba locals think it's worth.

Not been in 10 years and you want to Judge it? Sounds like the way that you analize Tennessee Football.

OK, Spurrier knew he was leaving for the NFL. He wanted to leave his strategically challenged counterpart a gift before he parted.
