What are legitimate reasons for divorce?

have to disagree with that statement......God's will is why the Bible was given to us through man

and what's your evidence that the bible brought on any greater level of good deeds in teh world? hitler was a fan of the bible. just as the muslims (your example) are not (though that could actually be debatable)..

I'ma gonna rephrase dat fuh ya since izz so hard to git it.

What is the difference between meaning and basis of thought in terms of a frickin' forum post?

my guess is lack of a logical response

i was answering his post......you can play any word game you want there big guy......your ignorance on the subject of Christianity is evident

You're still avoiding the question. Your ignorance on the real world is even more evident.

Case in point:

I am wrong all the time. The Bible is not.

Do we seriously need to initiate a digression in pertinence to how self-contradictory and illogical the Bible is at times?

With all the changes in life since "B.C." and the disagreement among the masses on the interpretation/meaning of the Bible, I wonder why "God" hasn't seen the need to give man direction as to his will since that time. If you believe the Bible, he saw that need before and acted on it. Why not since then?

people know the Bible and what it says.....most do not follow it though.....so the evidence against the Bible being a good influence is debatable

Simple answer....he sent his son for people to listen to....it is up to each individual now.....all the other stuff is mans way of deciding if God is real or not....he has already given us all the guidence we need.....way to many people over think salvation

hell why not for teh 10,000 years before that?

i see no evidence the bible has resulted in humans being more moral. none. if it wasn't the bible humans would have found something else or some other religion to latch on to turn their lives around. it's no coincidence that drug users who find jesus turn into fanatics. addiction to something is in their genes.

And too many simply choose to believe the written words of men with absolutely no question. I'm sure I could stop by any mental institution and find several that claim to be the Son of God.

Books by men also once told us the Earth was flat. We now know that not to be the case.

OK, explain the "real world" to me. I'll wait.

Knock yourself out on your perceived issues with the validity of the Bible. It is all old news and completely irrelevant to the core meaning in the Bible.

One could make the argument that the Bible promotes archaic behavior as well. I mean, these rules that are found in the book are thousands of years old. It's clearly a book that promotes misogynist thought, discrimination, and fear. It's not limited to basic morals (i.e. don't kill, steal, slap ya momma).

And yes, human nature begs for a celestial power to look to. Always has and always will.

So, old news... does that translate to "arguments I still can't refute after all these years?"

humans find other things to latch onto every day.....you have no point there......accepting Christ is an individual choice....nothing more, nothing less.......for every fool in this world such as Hitler there are just as many Christians.....the Christians just do not get the headlines and, in most cases, do not seek them

the answers to all those issues have been given many times....unbelievers just do not accept them, and that is your choice
and please....do not act like you came up with any of these arguements on your own

Yes, because I definitely claimed to be the pioneer in the crusade against the falsehoods of the Bible.

Someone's getting flustered.

i've seen no evidence of christians being any more moral than anyone else. quite the opposite in my life.

I question all the time, I do not know where you are going with that statement.......the chosen 12 questioned Jesus all the time as do most Christians and that it fine....claiming to be the Son of God, that is also common place and covered in the Bible under false prophets

If you guys want some theological thesis on religion from me, you are talking to the wrong person. There is a member of my church that would love to answer all your questions at his web site
reasonableFaith.org
He has debated Harvard scholors and many other athiests on the subject of God and the Bible.
