After running the ESPN Allstate playoff predictor it looks like it favors Bama over Texas in the SECCG which drops Texas out the playoff. SEC gets four teams in most of its iterations - Bama, Georgia, Tennessee, and last in is Old Miss

Army ain’t beating Notre Dame though, sadly.

Ohio State barely beat Nebraska at home. The same Nebraska team Indiana demolished 56-7. But the Hoosiers won’t be competitive? Explain that one to me.

Death, taxes, and Ohio State playing with their food and occasionally losing a game they really shouldn’t (or coming close). I don’t know how many times we have to say it: it’s a week to week season, and the transitive property doesn’t work. There are myriad examples. We beat Alabama, who beat Georgia, who beat us. Bama beat Scar, who drubbed Vandy, who beat Bama. Hell, Toledo beat Miss State worse than either we or Georgia did this year, are you taking them over us or the Mutts?

Practically everyone on here wants to use the transitive property as it relates to our season - Bama beat Georgia but we beat Bama so we should be ranked ahead of them, even though their metrics are better. Georgia beat us but they only beat Kentucky by one, so they aren’t as good as people think they are. Ole Miss beat Georgia and Arkansas but they couldn’t beat Kentucky so they don’t deserve the playoffs over us, even though we lost to that same crappy Arkansas team.

All that being said, I 100% believe Indiana will give OSU a game for four quarters. Watch and see.

We'll know more tonight, but simply looking at the AP, Ole Miss losing at Florida would put us in.

We need Florida to upset Ole Miss and Texas to destroy A&M…that would make us the the clear choice to be the 4th SEC team and I think right now after the 5 automatic slots are filled the committee will take 3 additional teams from the Big 10 and SEC plus Notre Dame.

Not sure that's true. I believe an Ind loss would help us out more along with a ND loss. Playoff committee has always favored O. St. so eliminating Ind is better IMO. The SEC teams getting in is a real mess right now but should sort out more after this weekend. Vols just have to win big in last 2 games and hope the other wins-losses are in favor.

I don't think so. If that happens Ohio State's two losses would be to the #1 team and the #3 or 4 team. I believe we just have to go ahead and assume barring any crazy shenanigans and mystifying upsets that the Big 10 is getting four.

Our best path is Ole Miss to lose to Fla or Miss St and replace them. I also think there's a chance Notre Dame could lose one of their last two as well. That would also help. If Army wins out though that could complicate things.

I think it would take a beat down for Indiana to not get in. As in you watch the first half and at half time you know beyond any shadow of a doubt that Indiana just isn't competitive in that game.

That’s the best scenario. I think we are the first team out right now. The only way the SEC gets 5 in is if ND loses or Indiana loses bad enough that combined with their weak schedule drops them below a 2 loss SEC team with a stronger schedule. Even then they still might put Indiana in at 11-1. In that case there could be 4 spots open for 5 teams. We really need to put it on Vandy since that will be the last time the committee sees us play

There's nothing that says the top four have to be a P4. There's a chance the AAC and MWC could get two of the top five spots with both being ranked ahead of the Big 12 champ. Boise is already in front of every Big 12 team. So, that's not necessarily true but it would require Army beating Notre Dame, a top 25 Tulane, and Navy. Not a likely scenario but not impossible. That would probably be enough to jump the Big 12 champ. Especially if Ariz St were to beat both BYU and Colorado in the Big 12 championship game.

Indiana would have no ranked wins if they lose to OSU. They can't skirt by with a SOS in the 100s and finish the year with no ranked wins nor a conference championship and get into the CFP. They are not a big enough brand.

Nah. UGA won't slip up vs GaTech. Bitter rival and the playoffs are on the line. One thing UGA does is handle business when an opportunity presents. I never say never, but I'd be shocked.
