Agreed. Not all socialistic policies are bad. I don’t agree with healthcare being one though. People shouldn’t be forced to buy healthcare coverage if they don’t want to do so. I’m not opposed to having programs to help those less fortunate folks but forcing everyone to buy healthcare and letting government control the healthcare system is not the way. I definitely don’t agree with income equality to the point where everyone is given the same amount from the government (extreme end I know) as those that are willing to work harder and smarter should make more than those that aren’t but I do agree with helping people who are struggling. Yes, some people are struggling because they’re lazy, hooked on drugs, and/or taking advantage of the system but there are people that are victims of circumstance and/or just had some misfortune and truly need help. A lot of Reps/Conservatives hear “socialism” and think it’s all bad while Dems push it too far the other way. Both sides need to accept that some is good but so is individualism. The government doesn’t know what’s best for my family and I in most cases. Sometimes, yes. All the time? Not even close. Until the sides get to where they will listen to each other we will never make progress or heal.It is? All of those things that were listed are a redistribution of tax dollars for the common good of American society. The products and services of the things mentioned are technically owned, run or maintained by the government at varying levels.
Saying "socialism is bad" as a blanket statement without context or understanding of all the good it provides is myopic.
If not for Federally funded school lunch programs there are a lot of kids who wouldn't ever get a square meal.
And jobs for the middle class will once again go in the toilet. One simply has to look at the Obama employment and the Trump employment. Cut taxes on corporations and the 100's of billions that those companies offshore come back into this country in investments and new middle class jobs. Raise those rates, money goes offshore and middle class jobs take a dump. Then those people get to go look for jobs in the service industry. But many of those jobs are going in the shitter because min wage is going to $15. What happens? More and more dependence on Unca Joe and the Ho. It's a grand plan folks. The leftists on this thread are astoundingly naive.I can absolutely guarantee taxes on the middle class will increase. All of his spending can't be taken care of simply by only taxing evil corporations and evil rich people
No, but what I currently pay in taxes is not an undue burden.
Someone making $88,000 a year doesn't pay anywhere near 25% of their total income in federal income tax. That's not how the tax plan is structured.Yeah... getting the votes.
And the point of changing the tax rates isn't as much about increasing revenue as it would be to give some relief to the tax payers in the middle class. Your "concerns" or argument against most of these tax cuts is that the lower classes will not see much relief or that they might see an increase (even though that hasn't been mathematically shown how). The lower classes would compensate from paying higher taxes by benefitting from govt programs anyways, so it is a wash. WTF do the working class stiffs receive? They usually make too much money to qualify for those same govt programs, but not enough to escape the drudgery of the middle class to live like fat cats. $88,000 a year puts you at the 25% tax rate. There is no excuse for anyone at that level to be paying that.
I'm at work now (apparently slaving away making money so the government can take every penny of it), and the spreadsheet showing the calculations is on my home computer. I'm perfectly happy to post the analysis after I get home (likely tomorrow, as I have plans tonight). It's good to be skeptical and ask for data--I would do the same in your position, and it's a healthy mindset to have in general.Well again... if you tell people that and it is true, then you would be doing a good thing. But the problem is that far too many, including yourself even in this conversation, are quick to claim that any tax cut proposal is going to disproportionately raise taxes on the poor with out any proof. That is the real issue. You all love to demagogue tax proposals without any proof and that is where the sinister side of our system shows up.
Yes he did say that. However when his plans were evaluated the need for revenue basically cut that number in half. One of those will have to give and I'm going to guess it's the taxes not the spendingBiden is untruthfully being misquoted on this forum. He said he will raise taxes on corporations and individuals earning more than $400,000.
EDITED
I'm the one person here saying that I'm fine with how much tax I pay and I'm not begging to pay less--and you're attacking me for not contributing? How does participating in the running of our country with paying taxes "hurt" 94% of the population. You talk about "fair share" and then want to let that many people suck off the teet when they can contribute.
YES...you ARE the problem.
I mean, that's what you're arguing for. You want to increase taxes on the bottom 90%. Wouldn't that make you happy? The plan is the only one that will unite. That is what the OP wants. I'm sorry you don't get it. When Joe and the Ho ram single payer down our throats like you know they will, that bottom 90% better strap it on because their taxes will go through the roof.
Yeah, all those retirees who don't pay taxes on their Social Security income are spending it all on weed and tats, I'm sure.Good for you, I personally don't give two ***** about placing an EQUAL burden on everyone. I understand you want to live off that 10%'s back, I don't. I'm tired of paying for tats, smokes, weed and everything else that goes with a lot of the 51% that don't pay taxes. And before you go off about freedoms blah blah blah. I live in W. KY. I see this **** every single day.
