Every place in Tennessee is God's country.

Okay, maybe not Bucksnort, that town seriously blows. And Memphis is pretty rough at times. But otherwise.

Consider this: would you rather live in Chattanooga or Tuscaloosa? Birmingham? Hotlanta? Hattiesburg? Lexington?

There are a lot of nasty places in the south, pretty much anywhere in Bama or Mississippi and a lot of places in Kentucky and South Carolina.

Compared to all that, Chattanooga is super fine. Plus, I just like Chattanooga, know good people there.

Go Vols!
You had me till Memphis. Lets give that to Arkansas or Mississippi

Calling Bucksnort a town is a stretch. It’s more of an exit with a porn shop and a sketchy hotel.

If you want sketchy in Hickman County, go to Hidden Valley for a much better time.

(I’m aware of VN Bucksnort lore😂)

I went out to find it and found this:

"Furman getting b*tch slapped 52-0 at half by Ole Miss but Ole Miss is a much better team than UTk and has a better coach."

At one time GA wanted to annex Chattanooga or part of it in a border dispute, mostly to get access to the river, and we should let them have it.
Even though I live in South Cackalacky now, the Water War between Jawja and God’s Country was fun while it lasted. Some of us were planning to “annex” Savannah, GA into Tennessee and rename it East Savannah, TN. Put up “Tennessee State Line” signs…the works! We figured Tennessee needed a seaport and Jawja needs water from Nickajack. We “suspended” the campaign. For now.

Surprised by the vitriol. We’re schools in the same system in different divisions. Maybe I’m naive that I expected most UTC fans to either be UT or UGA fans too based on geography.
I'm a UTC grad and lifelong Vol fan. Many Vol, Bama, UGA and Aub fans in Chattanooga. There is a small population of Moc fans who hate UT but outside of that small group many pull for both schools.

Yes, it is. No malice intended as I was just saying that in jest and aiming it towards the comments from the unhappy Moc fans. I lived in East Brainard in the eighties, and was originally from Memphis, so I have seen a lot. My brother also lives in Birmingham, so there’s that. I should have explained myself better.
If you lived there in the 80’s you would not even recognize it now…with all the ridiculous growth and the tornado a few years ago…it’s crazy…

-Sitting in traffic, Can’t wait to get out of this Hillbilly Hell."

Is Chattanooga that much different?
That’s the comment that got me. Do people in Chattanooga think that the rest of East Tennessee is Sneedville? Also, what’s wrong with Sneedville?! Hillbillies need to take the word back and appropriate it as is custom.

Second thought: Knoxville is a bigger city than Chattanooga and has its own area code.

Third thought: I just assumed that Chatt fans were also Vol fans. I’m Vol through and through, but I pull for ETSU in their athletic endeavors 🤷🏽‍♂️

Yes, not long after we moved Chattanooga began having a tremendous growth period and it definitely cleaned things up. The only viewpoint I have today is the horrific traffic in Chattanooga as we head to the gulf coast each year.

I have a hard time understanding anyone from the State of Tennessee that is not a Tennessee Volunteers fan.
I always ask people that were born and raised here that pull for teams like Florida and Alabama if they also cheer for China and Russia in the Olympics. It's basically the same thing.

I grew up in Chatt and UTC was the 2nd team for most Chatt FB fans. UT was predominately the fav team, wasn't close. Been gone for 25 yrs so things may have changed.

It’s the ones that I know weren’t fans until Saban got to Bama that make me sick. Being a fan of another school even though you don’t live in that state is ok, but those (Saban fans) are the ones I don’t even discuss football with. I ask questions like QB names during certain years just to prove my point and most of the time I know more than they do about “their own team”.

Was talking about the Hillbilly hell part. Lol. Hillbilly calling Hillbillies Hillbilly is funny to me.
Yeah, I was gonna say something about that too, changed my mind. Their fans had to know what was likely to happen in the game. UTC looks to have a very good team, but not on par with Tennessee, or most any other major player.

-The team was trying, we were just very outmatched at every position on the field.

-On the bright side, we scored as much as #14 Clemson did against Georgia.

-We got yard stomped.

-Tennessee may very well be a playoff team, they’re going to drill NC State next weekend.

-Too bad there is not a score rule like the run rule in softball, then we could’ve went home earlier. No doubt Tennessee is really good but we look like we had not practiced. We cannot tackle, we cannot block, embarrassing.

-Heupel is trash for calling a timeout up by 45 trying to get the ball back.

-Tennessee really sent the house after that punt when they were up big, BUSH LEAGUE BS!

-Tennessee ran the score up for the polls.

-I know the paycheck is nice and all but we don't need to be playing semi-pro teams anymore.

-Over 700 yards given up on defense is pathetic. I thought this was supposed to be Rusty’s best team.

-Embarrassing showing against a middle of the pack SEC team.

-Sitting in traffic, Can’t wait to get out of this Hillbilly Hell.

-Damnit, is Tennessee really this good or are we really this bad?

-This loss will sting even more when Tennessee finishes 8-4 or 7-5.
GBO. Yes, we are that good.
