What schools will come after Josh Heupel?

Has Alabama spent years worrying about Saban leaving? Do Georgia fans sit around wondering who's gonna come after Kirby? I don't get it. Most coaches (not including Lane) leave because they see whats coming. Jimbo to a&m, and Riley to USC, for example. Tennessee is not a stepping stone job despite what it's looked like for years. It's just been lacking leadership from the top down which it has now. Heupel isn't going anywhere.

What school wouldn’t just be a lateral move? I just don’t get the worry. Can’t see him leaving, unless for sentimental reasons 🤷🏼‍♂️

After every win we have this thread I swear. Lol

Yep Dooley won a game think it was NC State they were on here UGA coming after Dooley.
Also Cornbread won vs Auburn they came on here better pay him Bama coming soon as soon as Saban dies.
True stories this board is never dull
Also someone said Michigan might come after Butch because I think it’s where he’s from.

I know money talks, but Heupel seems to sincerely like being at Tennessee. We have the backing to match whatever offer comes along. After what he has accomplished in two short years, we'd be fools to let him get away.

Crap gets old I guess I'm dumb enough to dive into this troll thread every week.

Is Lane Kiffin the only head coach to ever leave UT? They seem to either get fired or retire. Not worried.

I think it would take a ridiculous amount of money that he couldn’t say no to for him to leave.

Even then the best anyone will ever get is 50\50, 60/40

Now, if AD White moves on to the NFL… That’s the game changer.

Only things you can bank on this board every year are "Watch out for Kentucky!" and "Who's coming after our coach?" (if we have a non-losing season} threads.

First PLEASE LET US COLLECTIVELY SAY...pay Heupel well...his current pay is way way too low AND ANNOUNCE IT SOON!!

Having said that, which COLLEGE TEAMS will come after him (or already is)?

5 million a year isn’t low.

Win the national championship and he will get paid national championship money.

Let the season play out and then worry about paying CJH.

He either likes it here or he's a hell of an actor. I mean, remember him after the Bama game? The way he talks about our traditions? What's the difference in staying here and making bank or leaving and making bank? He's got a family and it's tough on them to move every 3 years or so like he's been doing. I think he stays for a long time unless we run him off. I think the sky is the limit. He is constantly putting in new plays and he's going to be able to build a monster that will compete with the likes of UGA every single year. Our defense is going to get better too, we have over-achieved already, but making the playoffs would be unbelievable. Kirby Smart inherited a winning program and took them there in year 2 and almost won. I don't think we have anywhere near the talent that he had back then.

This is a necessary thread because there arent enough people on VN freaking out about getting left out of the CFP. We really needed something else to be paranoid about.

Believe it or not, it may depend on how his wife likes it in Knoxville. Doug Dickey left because his wife like Florida. Lame Brain left because his wife liked the allure of LA. Heupel has Midwest roots, we'll see how it plays out, but he is worth 2x what he makes at UT-- and UT has a history of going cheap on coaches' salaries.

Dickey left cause his family & his wife’s family were in Florida. They had 4 children and wanted to be close to family That was 1969, not today, when private jets can get you there in a couple hours.

CJH strikes me as a man who is extremely grateful for his opportunity to be at TENNESSEE. A man who absolutely loves everything about our program and will be here for the long haul. Many will come after him but i dont see another program in the country that could convince him to leave, NFL included. After a couple natty’s maybe the NFL but he knows he is already at the top in CFB
