What schools will come after Josh Heupel?

I dont think you have o worry about it. Once we get into the playoffs, irrespective of what happens there, they will redo his contract I guarantee you.

I dont think he will want to leave yet anyway because the hardest part is done already and he has Milton next year and Nico coming in. Besides coach pay, it would have to be a place with crazy NIL like we have to get some top recruits before the team "deserves" them.

He has a place here that can build a dynasty in the heart of the SEC. A rich storied program with tons of resources and absolutely rabidly fanatical fans,

Do you honestly think with their history together that Danny White is going to let Heupel even THINK about leaving if it is a matter of money?

Where I am much more concerned is assistants

Very well said! Danny brought him in from UCF and they are very close I'm sure, so I'm sure Heupel will be taken care of.

Yes, I do believe NFL teams and other college programs will come after Heupel but unless he has some type of Saban like ego (I don't see that in his personality) when it comes to salary, he'll be content to get his salary bumps after meeting with Danny and discussing the athletic department budget situation.

Boosters! Time to get your checkbooks out! :p

Don’t matter who comes after him.
He’s ours and they can’t have him!!!!!!

BTW, we will pay whatever it takes to retain him and then some. You can bank on that!!!!

First PLEASE LET US COLLECTIVELY SAY...pay Heupel well...his current pay is way way too low AND ANNOUNCE IT SOON!!

Having said that, which COLLEGE TEAMS will come after him (or already is)?
Tennessee is a Top-15 All-Time program. You don't come for our coach we go get yours!

Quiet down! He's staying. He has a private goal. Build Tennessee into a powerhouse. Own Oklahoma, make them bleed for how they treated him. Gleefully stomp them and stomp them. Make them regret ever moving to the SEC. That's his mission. He wants it. He wants it badly.
After what he did to Missouri because of Dinks comment…well it would surprise me if he was petty enough to pull a Game of Thrones esque revenge scheme

Not saying some GM wouldn’t try it, but I personally don’t think the CJH offense would translate to the NFL very well.

It's possible you're correct, but that won't stop GMs from thinking it will.

There's been several examples the last 5-7 years of college coaches with equal/less offensive success being lured away.

I’m sure white has already had this conversation w JH…”we’ll sort it out in off season”. We are good here unless he has NFL aspirations.

I had no problem with Tennessee scoring that last touchdown if Missouri didn't want the score to be run up on them they should have damn stopped the Tennessee offense.

I think we have a unique set up, being Danny white and josh huepel know each other pretty well. I don’t see coach walking away from this situation any time soon.

the NFL DOES NOT ALLOW TEAMS TO DOUBLE STACK RECIEVERS

NFL needs to get more exciting. Like the CFL and their running multiple receivers in motion, turning upfield before the ball is snapped. Add double stacks too.

If I know anything about Josh Heupel; he is an alpha competitor. He doesn’t just want to be successful. He wants to win championships and look good doing it. My concern is that he led Tennessee to it’s best year probably ever… broke every offensive record, beat Florida, Alabama, LSU… yet it still wasn’t good enough to even get to a conference title game… Why did Lincoln Riley jump from Oklahoma to USC?… Because he is an alpha competitor that knows he has a better path to national championships at USC….

There are only a hand full of schools that can offer that sort of pathway. Oklahoma is not one of them… I hope Ryan Day stays at OSU for a very long time but if he decides to jump to the NFL; I will be very worried.

Petty? Letting the backups play at full speed? It was the same offense we ran all day.
You say petty as if it’s a bad thing. I don’t think it is.

Drinkiwitz ran his mouth off and Huepel reminded him that he need to put up or shut up. Nothing wrong with that in the least.

I said during the game thread that it’s not our job to stop playing to spare the feelings of the losers, it’s their job to stop us. They can’t/won’t do that, then too bad.

But their coach certainly needs to stop running his mouth too

I love all you morons acting like you can see the future or know what he wants. All anyone can say is we hope he stays a long time and we hope the school does all it can to keep him. Beyond that, you are simply speculating and sound stupid.

Why are we even talking about this stupid ****?
Well after Kiffin left in the middle of the night like we were a two-bit mistress, we get freaked out that every coach is going to leave us.

We had the same threads about Dooley, Butch and Pruitt. The difference is that this time Huepel is actually a prize other teams will want.

That doesn’t mean he’ll leave. Just that we have some ptsd to work through.
