I lived in Bham, AL for 4 years from 1989-1993...and I learned to hate the Bammites during those years. But at least the Bammites never looked down their nose on me and thought they were better than me as a fellow southerner...they just hated the Vols...and it was all about the SPORTS, and had nothing to do with heritage.
However, I did live in W. Lafayette, IN for a short while back in 1988 thru July of '89--and had plenty of "so-called" educated people who thought that they were intellectually superior just because they were born up North and didn't speak with a southern 'drawl.....
I'll NEVER root for one of those teams--or ANY non-SEC team against my SEC brethren...
I'd rather suffer a little sports ridicule over a FB game than have some ignorant SOB think he's intellectually and personally superior just because he was born above the Mason-Dixon line....But--
