When did you punch-out on Dooley?

KY last season got the message across for me that we were in serious trouble but I understood him getting a pass due to injuries.

When this team gave up and quit against FL, that was the final straw that convinced me he couldn't get it done and he proved it time and again this season.

When I had to google him when he was hired.

Seriously though, after UF this year

That was the make or break game for Dooley. He pissed away with the rest of the season and the energy of the entire fanbase.

If there were any doubts after that MIZZOU put them to rest.

I knew Vandy was going to win, I didn't expect a virtual blow out.

To be honest, I had doubts right off the bat when I saw his record at Louisiana Tech. When I looked him up to see how he'd done there, I was thinking (assuming) that he probably had pretty good record there, warranting his hiring at Tennessee. When I saw that he didn't, I just gave him the benefit of the doubt.

I really started to have serious doubts after Wilcox left for what essentially was a lateral move, then gave up after the Florida loss this year.

This whole experiance has made all of us a lot more sceptical about personnel. We now know that just wearing an Orange jersey (or Orange pants) doesn't mean a thing. You still have to have players playing as a team and a coach that motivates, inspires and will not tolerate average performance.

Honestly, when we quit against Kentucky last year I knew Dooley was to blame. He should've been fired after that game. You don't lose to Kentucky as a Vol head coach. Period. :good!:

I thought he was done after UK, but i had to pull for him this year. VFL! After the way they played Akron, I knew it was time for him to go.

This my exact timing too.

I will add my response to his hire was "if you say so" and never had a whole lot of confidence that he would get the job done...

My questions began last year with the Kentucky loss.

I started to get a bad taste in my mouth at the Florida game (all of the hype and then the same old second half butt-kicking).

The MSU loss was my last straw. Each week after that reaffirmed it.

The honest truth is that I never punched in on him. His record at La Tech was awful and indicated he had no business in the SEC. I spent the last 3 seasons looking for evidence to the contrary, but needless to say he never provided any.

I was never on board with Dooley. It degraded our program by bringing in the son of a rival's beloved coach. Never mind that he was completely unproven at mid-major LaTech.

Kiffin put us in a jam but Dooley was a terrible knee jerk decision. Kippy Brown should have been given an interim tag with the same deal Dabo Swinney received. Hamilton then could have done a proper coaching search and pulled the trigger when the timing was right.

That said, our program has stabilized significantly over the last two years (even if the record doesn't agree). Our future is a lot brighter than a lot of folks think.

I never punched in on Dooley. You don't hire a La Tech coach with a losing record and expect him to lead you to victory in the SEC.

When he sat on 2 timeouts with 40 seconds left, having the ball, with Bray, Hunter, and Patterson on his team, against Mizzou.
