Does Spurrier ever say anything bad about Saban?
Just curious to see everyone's opinion on when Spurrier will take a shot at Coach Jones. It is bound to happen eventually, it is almost a tradition for the old ball coach to take a shot at our coach.
There were the many times over the years with him and Phil, and he quickly went after both Kiffin and Dooley so I wonder how much longer until Butch gets his glib remark.
My guess is an obvious one with SEC media days.
Anyone who knows steve spurrier knows he hates georgia above all other things.
Most of the other stuff is who he is combined with the philosophy of sun tzu, which he happens to agree with.
Basically, he runs his mouth every now and then because he believes it does effect the opponent. The more he thinks it works and the more he wins, the more he runs his mouth.
So, when he took jabs at tennessee back in the 90's, it was mainly because he thought he got into tennessee's head.....not because of some long suppressed hatred he had for tennessee.
personnally, i usually think he knows his opponent pretty well and his instincts are correct. i do think he got into tennessee's head back in the day and i believe he is in clemson's head now.
jmo
Could be CBJ can give more than he gets....a man that can cover the ground he covers without making a lot of dust can probably handle a zinger.
And yet you suggest he's following Sun Tzu with regards to throwing quips at opponents? How about those same quips he constantly uses on his own team? Have you actually read Sun Tzu? I have. Sun Tzu isn't Machiavelli.
you've lost me.
i said spurrier throws barbs because he thinks agitating his opponent helps him win.
you posted something about spurrier and fulmer turning the game into a rivalry and the sec promoting the game.
i said spurrier didn't care about any of that, he was just trying to get into the head of his opponent.
That is absolutely idiotic.

ok. you're losing me even more now.
agitating your opponent to throw your opponent off his game is straight out of sun tzu
