Where is Alexa headed? [Alexa Middleton leaving team]

Yeah, when a player says she is transferring to accomplish her goals, in common parlance we would say that she "wants to transfer." You know, her decision, pursuing her goals, etc. To my knowledge she was not forced to transfer or is transferring against her will. So, why are you choking on the word "wants."

And nothing in my post suggested that Alexa lacked honor or would have somehow tried to impede the progress of the freshman. When I said hypothetically, I want a player who says the freshman will have to wait-- I meant that in the sense of a determination to become so good, that you have to be played over less experienced players. Isn't that consistent with "alpha" mindset you always preach.

Of course, this is just another case of you "jumping" in to make a humble brag, you know her, her family, you have trained all the rest. Wonderful, CJ, wonderful.

We've lost the best three-point shooter on the team, and I guarantee you this will be a problem for us. One of our team weaknesses--of course Warlick is oblivious to it--is that we do not make enough three-point shots. So instead of getting better at taking/making threes, we will regress. Neither Cooper nor any of the freshmen are going to shoot 40 percent from the three-point line.

Because Cooper is not known for her outside shooting and odds of a freshman shooting 40 percent against much better college competition is low.

The reality is Middleton is gone good luck to her and hopefully great play from whomever on the roster takes her minutes next season.

Lies Jamie percentage went way up from her freshman year to now.. she will shoot better she is a work horse and is working on her shot

If you don't think they played some pick up ball when they visited the campus and meet the team...then i could see where you would be confused, but it happens and it happens with every recruit,everywhere.

What purpose does her removal on the roster serve?

Same as Baylor player, as soon as she announced her depart, she was taken off roster. Don't blame Holly.

I think it's just standard protocol...although it did stab me in the heart. I just hate it...but it's done and that's that. Anxious to see where she lands and will be following her and just wishing her all the very best. She's a jewel, in more ways than one. 💖

I truly think it's just standard protocol. It did hurt my heart to see it done practically immediately but I think it's just the way they do it.

Look at all the schools that had transfers. All of them removed the transferring player's name from the roster.

I agree it's strange since they were part of the current team, but that appears to be protocol.

Exactly... it is standard protocol and that's all there is to it. I hated to see it, but that's just the way it's done and nothing more.

She played on the team in 2016-17 so taking her off like she was never there is idiotic. Plus she's still in the picture unless they plan on photoshopping her out.

I guess it's a no win situation. If they left her in, some would be asking, why is she there since she left the team?

They could at least have photoshopped the team photo inserting her with a suitcase in her hand. That might make everyone happy. :)

I'm not disagreeing - I'm so sad about her departure...just saying I think all the teams do it this way. When they announce a transfer,
they immediately take them off the roster. I really wish she wasn't leaving!
