Where is Alexa headed? [Alexa Middleton leaving team]

I can understand it without agreeing to it. Do they throw out her stats too? She was on this team. She should stay on this roster and be taken off the 2017-2018 roster.

Stop making sense. Is it too much to ask? :birgits_giggle:

Seems like some around here look for anything to get bent out of shape about. The current roster is still team 2016-2017. Team 2017 and 2018 is not formed yet so it's obvious why players get taken off the current roster, because they aren't on it. Anybody with half a brain and one eye can understand that. When 2017-2018 is formed, Lex will show up as having played on the 2016-2017 roster.

When a head coach or assistant leaves - I "believe" it is protocol to remove her picture and bio even before the next coach is hired. However, USC didn't for many weeks after their coach resigned.
And closer to home when Louisiana Tech had its resignation of coach (very suddenly) the PR department did some interesting scrambling to attempt to show normality and to reduce the potential of legal actions on its website. When Indiana University had the sudden resignation of its women coach - all was quiet, a new coach was hired locally and rapidly (who had a great deal of leverage before signing her contract). And in both cases the women basketball boards like ours had open gossip opportunities.

Why does this matter so much? She shouldn't want her name on the roster. She is the one who decided to leave.

Exactly what I wanted to say. ppl kept giving her attention she doesn't deserve. She wanted to leave, case close!

She doesn't want attention either, FYI. I found the tone of your comment to be rather hateful toward Lex. If I misunderstood, I apologize.

"wanted to?"

Best 1-on-1 player in the country.
Elite program.
Top recruiting class coming in.

Why would I "want to" leave that.
Even if on the pine, the ride would be a very interesting one.

Are you saying she doesnt want to leave and was forced to? Maybe I am misunderstanding your comments. If so, I apologize.

Lost me at best 1 on 1 player in the country. I didnt realize we were talking about someone other than Middleton.

First read I wondered too. Rereading, however, I think it is fairly obvious he is referring to DD, just like "Elite program" refers to UT.

And her name is Middleton. No need to be ugly about a young student athlete who gave 3 years to the program, regardless of the fact she is leaving, and who can't respond to such hatefulness. "Anonymity", right T_V and Rickster?

Amen, sister. So hateful and despicable to make fun of and name call an absolutely outstanding young woman (I know personally she is) who gave her all for Tennessee.

I wish Alexa had decided to stay, but it was her decision to go. Several things probably factored into that decision, but I don't think that she was in any way forced out-- or even encouraged to leave the program. I'm surprised that she would give up the opportunity to be part of a team with F4 potential to sit out a year elsewhere, but not all players want the same things.

Anybody confirm the interest? Belmont? Texas Tech?
I can't see leaving Tennessee for Texas Tech, but Belmont, yes.

Just seems like she would want her degree from Tennessee and she's got to be close. I don't see why she'd want to sit out all next year to play one year at Belmont. It's not like she'll be honing her skills for the WNBA.

So the NCAA is starting a new program? Are they going to have guys 1-on-1 as well?

Cryptic posts I do make
Mysterious statements insinuating knowledge
Intriguingly yours

I "want to" be noticed, desperately
Best 2 by 4 in the country
But made of pine or pining for attention?

From what I understand....She is going to UT this fall ? Probably to finish undergraduate?

I just don't understand the hatefulness some posters display. I don't like it about a coach, but they are adults and paid professionals, a certain amount of grief comes with the title, but to turn on the athletes! These are very young adults at the most and in many cases they are still kids. And then, to top it off, there is no way they can respond, either in self defense or return attack. So it seems cowardly as well as hateful. I bet most posters who type such comments would never say it to the kid's face, not because they would be scared, but because they would just not behave in such an ill mannered and socially unacceptable way when their behavior reflected directly on them.

Also if they have kids and someone said such things about their child! Can you imagine?! We had one poster who made ugly comments, got his hand called, then somehow posted something that got twisted by other posters to reflect on his daughter, and oh my! The outrage he had! It was all right to make disgusting comments about another young lady, but when it got turned and applied to his child!!! And the funny thing was it was exactly what he said about someone else. But I did notice afterwards every time he had differences with a poster he always had some hardship that exonerated his behavior and got the decent posters feeling sorry for him.

Never could decide if he was amusing or disgusting. Fortunately he rarely posts on the LV, just when his misogynistic tendencies need to be displayed. I finally put him on ignore. (He wasn't that amusing; idiocy was never my preferred form of humour.)

Isn't it funny how brave people get when they
are hidden behind anonymity and a keyboard? If you're gonna dish it out, you for sure better be able to take it. Anyone who knew Alexa would never say an unkind thing about her. I really, really wish she wasn't leaving. (I know - I sound like broken record.)
