Which USC players can we get?

Kiffin doesn't have to OK anything.

Apologies, I wasn't implying that Kiffin had to sign or "OK" anything before the player transfers. I meant that Kiffin will probably be a huge earful if he knows a player is leaning towards a conference rival. These are Jrs and Srs. I know they want to play, but I can't see them taking big chances. Then again, Kiffin doesn't have one bit of control, does he...

I'm sure he and Orgeron are giving their big sales pitch to the current players right now.

man, it would seriously be the perfect ending if we were to raid Kiffin's upperclassmen

Nothing would make me happier, I would pitch a movie idea about it. I could see it now " A cowardice coach runs to Los Angeles, his overgrown lackey riding his coattails making improper phone calls to former players, only to find out they have walked into a cluster *&%*. His own players follow his example and flee to..... Knoxville, only to win an SEC Championship on an undermanned team." Ok the last part is wishful thinking, but I would watch it it could sell to if it wasn't that Hollywood was in L.A. :eek:lol:

Didn't read the thread, are these just pipe dreams or are we really gonna go after a few? I would assume we would @ least look, regardless of what school is involved. Something tells me the drama of the situation would steer DD away from the idea.

In short, I think it says that no permission is needed from USC for any school to start contacting junior and senior athletes although USC can set reasonable restrictions aimed at preserving student academics. Any school would need approval to waive the one year player sit out from the Committee on Infractions. I wonder what their stance would be if there was a large exodus of players from USC? They may not like it. Any thoughts?

I guess my question is will CDD make the move or will he take the "sit back and watch" approach?

I would think Hammy has already told DD to make some calls if for nothing else but spite. We have the room might as well swing for the fences.

I don't know if it is accurate or not, but I just read a report on yahoo sports that USC received a 2 year bowl ban and a reduction of 30 scholarships to cover the 11,12 and 13 seasons. Can anybody verify if it is 20 or 30 scholarship loss?

if he was smart he would encourage them to come here... much more likely that they will go to another pac-10 team. At least here he won't have to play them.
The weasel could also claim credit for helping UT rebuild. Remember he left us in better shape than he found us. I don't think he is that smart and I think he is a bitter POS to boot.

It's 30 scholarships over the next 3 seasons. So 10 per year.

No. It is 20 for the football program. The 30 scholarship restriction is for all athletics including the 20 for football.

People saying none of these guys will transfer are positively nuts. Why the hell would these guys stay at USC at this point if they want any chance at playing time? Kiffin and crew have even more incentive to favor playing younger players at every position now. I don't know that UT is a huge beneficiary but I can't think of another major program with the scholarship space that we have and the relative lack of talent at several positions.

Also, if you are transferring and have your option to go anywhere, are you going to come to a rebuilding project in TN or go to a team that may be 1-2 pieces away from being a contender.

Seriously, I think that is a fair question to ask. Not all of them will necessarily have that option, but if they are good enough, then they will.

Well if Tennessee was to raid some of that talent from USC well on the O line they start right away. Wonder if we could rob there whole O line. If I was Dooley I would sell that come to UT and start right away. Bring Mustain with you. WOW
