Which USC players can we get?

I think you guys are missing the point. There were some recruits looking at USC and UT but holding off on signing. This puts us in GREAT shape with them. The USC upperclassman are not going anywhere, and if they do it certainly won't be UT. Let's get some of the 2010 signees who haven't reported to school yet! Let's get some of the '11 potential USC guys... This is the time to make hay for recruiting YOUTH, not upperclassman. Face it, we are rebuilding for 2012 not 2010...

The ability to transfer without sitting out a year only applies to juniors and seniors... And the only reason they were looking at us was b/c of Kiffin and staff, not because they grew up die-hard UT fans...

man, it would seriously be the perfect ending if we were to raid Kiffin's upperclassmen

This would give us some feeling of payback........:):dance2::)

Not sure how many would be interested, but we should give them a look.

GBO!!!!!!!!

Actually, I would think that our best chances would be for upperclassmen who are not currently starters at USC but certainly possess the talent to immediately step in at another Division 1 school, and who are from SEC country. Mustain definitely fits that bill of particulars. More specifically, we would want players that aren't from the West Coast so that UCLA, Oregon or any other PAC-10 school would hold no particular allure. USC has successfully recruited plenty of players from outside their region, despite the fact that there really was no need to do so, given the recruiting hotbed that California is.

Well if any fan of UT lives there he could make a sign saying UT has 10 schollies available for those wanting to transfer, just park in front of their complex! Who knows, it could work!:ermm:

My bro lives and fights out in Hollyhood, but he's not that much of a football fan, just a fan of southern things and reps the vols from time to time. Maybe we can rent a billboard on the 101 or 405?

Doesn't matter if they've reported to school yet, they signed their LOI and are locked in at USC. If they go anywhere they have to sit out a year.

Here's a new take: Very few players will leave the bright lights/big city of LA. They signed there because of the school, remember? The frosh/sophs all lose elligibilty if they leave. Nothing there. The jr's and sr's, the good ones have already declared and somebody please tell me why we would want any of their bench warmers? Granted, they have a lot of 5-star players, but bench warmers are bench warmers. That is that.

Then why was O telling our recruits not to attend classes?

Because early enrollees don't sign a LOI, they're locked in if they're enrolled in the school at the time that classes start for the spring semester. Those that show up for summer or fall classes signed a LOI in February and are considered members of that institution from that moment on.

I'd like to see the impromptu greetings exchanged when CDD/CLT/CJC arrive at LK's office to inform him that they're going to be in town for a few days.....talking to some Juniors and Seniors.

Anyone remember the Miami Canes in the 90's? That institution received similar sanctions in '95 after 10 consecutive 10 win seasons and, I think, 4 Natl. Championships. After '95, it took them another 6 years to get a 10 win season. 6 years then, I believe, will be like an eternity now, given all of the commotion going on in conference alignment.

USC is looking at 5+ years before they get back on their feet in the PAC-10.

Losing 20 scholly's is a big deal. That really hurts. However, I just don't see UT getting any of their Jrs. or Srs. coming out to UT. Also, if they do transfer, I don't see them going to conference rivals. I can't see Kiffin OKing that.

If its an open recruitment of the juniors and seniors I would send CLT just for the hell of it. I would love to see Lane and O's face when the show up on campus :)

Dude I know! I think CLT it just to get under his skin if for nothing else.

Looks like Cal just became the Big Dog in the Future Pac 16

Kiffin doesn't have to OK anything.
