those two were examples of a handful of "proven" elite coaches. There are probably no more than a dozen coaches I would prefer over Pearl for the Tennessee job. As frustrating as his teams are at times, I have to remember that we're not exactly the most coveted job in the country.

we tried to get jay wright. we tried to get tim floyd. we tried bobby knight. i believe we even tried to get kevin stallings. we got none of them. we did get pearl.
