I saw both teams. This is my opinion. Nebraska was a machine from start to finish. When looking at 2 teams that great, you have to get very picky. I say Nebraska wins in a head-to-head. The "in a landslide" comment was added for drama.
At least he won with that team. Miles lost two games to inferior competition. If he had of coached the same team at Miami, he probably would have found a way to give away at least one game.
If you think Fulmer only had 2 bad seasons at UT, your standards are the same as South Carolina's.
Feasting on Vandy, UK, USC Lite, UGA teams coached by Ray Goff and Jim Donnan, and Alabama teams on probation and coached by Mike Shula isn't exactly what legends are made of.
If he had a winning record against UF instead of annually crapping himself in that rivalry, or won 2 more SEC titles, I might let the 75% win percentage argument stand.
Miami never had a huge problem with the option. I think the most they ever gave up against it was in 1983, and they still won. They were faster than everyone else, and the 2001 team was the best and fastest. I think they would have had success defending it.Look, I'm biased for 2 reasons:
1 - I love a well-run option. It doesn't get any better than Osborne's squads.
2 - They dropped the hammer on FL. I even thought I saw a tear come out of Spurrier's eye, which made me smile.
Agree with the first sentence, but I still think he's good. Strongly disagree with the last sentence.
I think Miami was better on both sides of the ball.
