@Nicovfl8 acting like making a Thread/Poll here is just like his Text Chain with his fellow 6th Graders in History Class talkin' 'bout "Who's this MLK guy??!!"

1. Look both ways before posting. Please take a moment to scan the first page of the forum to see if a similar discussion exists before starting a new thread. Also, please don't start a new thread for every thought that pops into your head.

Last year the secondary was quite good before Hadden went down. It becomes easier when you have a CB that can shut down one side of the field. Listening to the coaching staff we have 2 good CB's out there this year. Having a d-line that can consistently put pressure on the QB goes a long way to making the backend look better.

Any one else see the obvious? Nicovfl8 = D4H.
I'm actually wondering if he's the troll IknoxvolsI returned for another round of self-flagellation.

I mean, IknoxvolsI was so unintelligent that his trolling attempts were more often self-induced traps revealing himself. And this thread has that same feel.

We'll just have to see. Whoever he is, though, he is definitely a troll and should be treated like one.

Go Vols!

Defense has improved every year under Banks lol. It’s more likely that he gets hired away after an excellent year than he gets fired

Not sure. Definitely need speed and big time play makers in the secondary. If not, probably an underwhelming season. An improved secondary can win them 1, 2 or more games. A not improved, or worse secondary can lose them multiple games....

Linebacker play should be much better, they'll just have more bodies in those positions with experience. If dline lives up to 75 percent of what they are expected to be, the dline should be very solid

When Banks leaves Tennessee it will be for a head coaching job or NFL job. Then Heupel will be in a position to hire another good DC because a) Tennessee will be in a much better position then we were when Banks was hired; and b) Heupel can sell the position as a stepping stone to a HC or NFL job because the DC gets so much autonomy, as Heupel is an offensive coach. Similar to the way Spurrier’s DC’s we’re always elite guys who went on to become head coaches or NFL coaches (Pruitt, Zook, Stoops, etc.).

I am in wait and see mode with the secondary, but even if they are subpar, it is a vulnerability. I don't expect them to be inept, and I don't expect the defense to be bad either way.

I didn’t bother voting because Tim Banks won’t have a bad year if his D stays healthy. The talent on the field and the talent coming in is equivalent to the Fulmer glory days. Tim won’t have a bad year due to coaching or talent. It all hinders on health of the players for which he has no control so he shouldn’t go anywhere for something for which he has no control.
