Serious answer. We just lost 2 straight to Vanderbilt. For the first time sine 1926. So, are folks gonna be upset? Hell, yes. Does that mean we need to fire coaches? Hell, no.

Everybody just needs to take a step back, and stop the peeing for distance contest. You want a team to be proud of? Then let's start being a fan base the players and coaches will be proud to excel for.

Three people want him fired so far.
I'm going to go ahead and go out on a limb and say my point has been proven. Just because you get upset with the situation or outright question the decisions that Butch makes, doesn't always mean you want him fired.

Too much still unknown to make that kind if prediction imo. In all honesty, we don't know what could happen in the future. He could bring this next class in and it add a spark that propels us to 8 or 9 wins next season, or he could leave in the middle of the night a week before signing day. We just don't know. For the record, I don't see either of those scenarios happening.

Give him a chance, this isn't the pro's where you can go buy a team. Recruiting requires time and the kids need to know the coach that recruits them is going to be there throughout their four years.

I'm sure you guys know where I stand on all of this. It is WAAAYYYY too early to even be thinking about dismissing CBJ or any of his staff for that matter. I have gone to the mat on this with a few (who haven't voted curiously). But that being said it is not a five year project. If this team is not winning 8 games in year three I think it's fair to begin asking questions. :peace2:

Doyle, I like your poll, but the few that I have gone around and around with on this subject haven't voted oddly enough. I'd like to know where Wylo, sjt, tm3, Gasboyvol(or somevariation) and a few others come down on this. If those clowns haven't outright said to fire him, they have made it clear that they KNOW he will not be successful here. :peace2:

I thought we could have beaten Vandy and Kentucky and gone to a bowl. We were close, but this isn't horseshoes or hand grenades. Im let down as many UT fans are, but we really aren't that far away. Im lovin the recruiting CBJ is doing and I think we will be ok in time. It would be crazy to fire the coaches now...

Ive seen it mentioned in posts myself. What I want to know if these last of the mental giants fire Butch, who the H3LL are they going to get to replace? No one in their right mind worth a darn would come here.

There are SO many living brain donors out there....drives me batty!

He has turned every program around he has coached. It is way too early to be even considering this question. According to ESPN, he has the #2 rated recruiting class coming in next year. Butch will get us the recruits we need to compete with the top-tier teams in the country. Our offense has been better than last year, and our defense is light years ahead of last season. We have actually played with fire in our eyes this season, something I haven't seen in four years. As Butch states, it is a process. Keep up the good work coach.

If at the end of next year we look as bad as we have this year (no progress and horrible game planning and play calling), than the only way CBJ should be kept is if he replaces his assistants (he should be kept because he gets credit for great recruiting assuming that continues). If however we see consistent improvement and make a bowl game next year (and not get blown out in losses all the time), then CBJ should get at least 4 years.
One exception to all this is if we lose to UK this weekend - then the entire staff should be fired on the spot (in the parking lot like Kiffin).

It was funny... I read this, and was going to suggest you start a poll of, "Should Jancek" or "Should Bajakian" be fired and see if more than three people say yes... and then I saw Pig Skin's post above.

i was bored at work so i did a little research. these stats are from rivals and go from 2010-2013.

UT has signed 98 players of which 66 are still on the team. 0-5*/24-4*/35-3*/7-2*
Bama signed 100 players of which 80 are still on the team. 10-5*/43-4*/27-3*/0-2*
Vandy has only signed 9-4* players since 2010. they are loaded with 2 & 3 star guys

youve got to have players and coaches.

when talent levels are even the coach makes the difference. as much as it hurts to say see the vandy game. close to same level talent and got out coached.

got to have players to get to the elite level. take us vs. bama. tons of good/great players and we got smashed.

Too early for this too. If you want them gone you are ignoring the issues on this team and in the program. I know people go back to UGA etc... but we need to give these guys the players that can be successful, then we will see. Play calling is bland because we don't have the talent to keep defenses honest. Defensive issues stem from lack of speed and ability. I really don't believe there is a DC in the country that would have done much better with this group. Too many freshman and walk ons. Schemes matter, but football is, and will always be, a game of match ups. if you don't have the players to win those match ups it really won't matter how you scheme it. Give Bajakian and Jancek a chance too. :peace2:

Agree with everything except Franklin hasn't had 4 years, he's only been there 3.

Heard this week we've played 15 true freshmen this year... they've played 3. They have more depth and more importantly, more belief and confidence. They knew they were gonna s ire that last drive..and so did all of our upperclassmen "leaders" who've known nothing but losing while at UT.
