Who will be Florida's new football coach if Muschamp gets fired after this season?

The key is ability to recruit in Miami, Belle Glade. Anyone with inroads there should be on the short list.

Mario cristabol would do a better job than Will ATP.

He'll keep TRob most likely and probably hire Ice Harris again

Tha would give UF the keys to Dade.

Dat fence tho

Miami has one of the worst Athletic departments in College Football. Just recruiting in Miami and the surrounding area with the talent there should be enough to make Miami a national power year after year. The ACC helped drag Miami down also.

Ruffin McNeil? Coach for East Carolina who just put a stomping on UNC yesterday and took USCe down to the wire practically?

Mullen is at least 12 years younger than McNeil if I recall correctly, plus he has HC experience in the SEC. Would he take the job? I honestly don't know, but I'm betting he gets a call before McNeil. RM's a good coach and deserves a shot somewhere, but I'm not sold UF would be the one willing to give it to him. I think a few "no thanks" would have to be heard before he became a legitimate contender.

Kirby Smartt to the gators.......book it

I agree that Kirby Smart is one of the most coveted for a head coaching job but I am not sure that Florida would want to experiment with another assistant coach after the Muschamp failure. I would bet they want to find a coach with head coaching experience and a proven one at that.

I thought Kirby Smart put it out there a long time ago he wasn't interested in head coaching positions?

No way Foley makes the same "mistake" and goes for an unproven Saban disciple. So far Dooley and Muschamp have not shown the capability of managing a game or making in game adjustments.

Gary Andersen from Wisconsin is a really solid coach. He's not Chip Kelly-level terrifying, but he'd do well at UF.

I agree but he hasn't done enough yet at Wisconsin or recruited at a high enough level to even get a look at UF. Plus he's an older guy.

hopefully fat daddy brady hoke will head to gainesville to keep the program at the level that Muschamp has brought it to. hes experienced at keeping a program down.

Will Kiffin now be considered a Saban disciple?

He won't be the coach at UF so it doesn't matter. It'll be 10 yrs or better before he gets another top 20 job, if ever. But no he's not a Saban disciple, he didn't get his start/philosophy from Saban like Muschamp, Smart and Dooley.

UF hiring Smart has Muschamp 2.0 written all over it. Doubt they would go that direction.

Yes. Yes. and another YES. He'll get a big time offer this year if BYU goes undefeated.

He'll have a chance at bigger West Coast gigs and some B1G jobs but imo he'll be a harder sell for southern schools.
He also has a pretty sweet gig at BYU. Jmo he'll stick around for 10+ yrs like Levall Edwards.

Yup.

I'm all for Mullen but he'll need a great recruiting staff. He's never been a fan of it from the reports.

Jim Tressel would be an interesting hire. He lied to the 'AA so that may prevent him from another big 5 job.

Bobbby P would definitely get the Fla skill players attention but that affair and the way he left the Falcons won't fly with Bullgators.

Todd Graham is a defensive guy but a guy that has won at each stop. He does carry some PR baggage from Pitt days.

Gene Chizik is a name that will come up. UF alumn and won a MMC. Was fired at ISU and Aubbie so those are hard to overlook. With the right staff it could be a homerun hire.

First 3 calls imo are Bob Stoops, Jim Mora and Mullen. Make all tell me "no thanks" before I start with others.

Foley should have fired Chomp last yr he had more realistic options in Strong and Franklin.

Kiffin. He's the only coach I've seen who can lay an egg everywhere he goes and still climb the ladder. I bet if he jumped head first into a barrel full of d1Cks he'd come out with a boob in his mouth.
I also think they hire Kiffin. Not many other choices I can think of.
