I'm just ready to get this chapter of UT football history behind us. Lets just move on. I thought he was an awful coach but I'd rather look to the future and the hope that is ahead. Lets cheer on our seniors saturday so they go out with a win, they deserve that with all they have gone through.

I TOTALLY agree with the OP! Ive noticed it as well, and personally do not like being crucified for saying negative things about him! Its ridiculous! I have EVERY right to say whatever I want about that clown. He achieved all new lows for our beloved program...embarrassing new lows!! Arent you embarrassed Dooley Lovers? What has this guy put in the water in Knoxville to where you are so quick to defend him? Dooley deserves every negative/bad remark said about him in regards to coaching. He has dug us 6 more feet under, and some of you wanted him back for another year...HA HA HA HA HA HA!!

HONOR THY VOLS...CHERISH THEM...

Dooley failed. He tried. He didn't fail because he's a bad person deserving of contempt. He failed because he just could not meet the standard. I'm not sure why it is good sport to take personal shots at him now... or even before.

What an awful example. People who lose their jobs when a company goes out of business may be awesome employees whereas Dooley was the guy who almost made our company (the vols) go out of business single handedly.

it's amazing how people choose what is ok to make fun of, how, when, and for how long?

dooley and sunseri have earned the right to be mocked for as long as people see fit.

or let me put it another way, tennessee fans get to make fun of dooley for as long as they hear kentucky fans remind them of 2011 or vandy fans bring up the 2012 beatdown.

seems fair to me

Because it's obnoxious. Because "ragging" typically contains uverifialbe character shots (no one on this board knows Dooley, no one can comment one way or the other). Because it's a bad look. Because he was a terrible SEC coach, not a freaking super-villain. But yeah, first amendment rights and such, keep conflating the two...keep showing your @$$.

It's one thing to bash a coach as a coach, another thing to get personal. Maybe most of the attacks were not or are not personal, but they never should be. Opposing coaches are open to personal attack. For instance, if you're not a bama fan then likely you recognize that Saban is one of the biggest A**holes to walk the planet, good coach or not.

Other rival coaches, such as Muschamp or Richt, I may dislike because they are "the enemy", but I don't think they are A&&holes the way saban is.

A related topic is that some fans aren't happy with ANYTHING. Those people need to go away and root for the Yankees or bammer. IMO.

It's pretty simple: I don't like Nazis. I can't imagine what the UTHFC was thinking to use such an analogy.

Oh, and I'm rolling in the irony of being called an "oversensitive little girl" by the guy who gets his knickers in a twist because we poke a little fun at the worst coach in our history and who has rushed to defend his honor on a message board ad infinitum.

The moment he was fired Dooley became a Tennessee Legend. It's for all the wrong reasons, but there you go. I hope in 50 years time we all have a saying for Dooley that is equivalent to "Third and Chavis" only better and more applicable. Sunseri too. The man will be measured by exactly what he achieves after this failure, as we all are.

When we had to fill Diver Down with nothing but covers, what did we do next? Quit? No, we cut 1984 baby!
