Why, Rick Barnes?

Why do you always have to play the “I know more about basketball than you do” card anytime someone disagrees with you or complains about Barnes.

What is your coaching resume? Really curious at this point.
Lot of guys in here know more than me. I'm just calling out the absurdity of belittling our players and coaches after an occasional loss.

I have no coaching resume, but I will certainly be more attentive of you hypersensitive types

You are the one still lobbing personal insults. Appears you are triggered. Both the players and coaches under performed against a lower ranked team and therefore lost. It happens. All we can hope is that they learn from it and get better. It’s getting closer to the end of the season and a lot of tourney teams such as St John’s and even KY seem to be going in a more upward trajectory.

It was one game. Don't really understand the last statement, except St. John's is playing really well. We're 3-1 in our last 4.

Got some news for you: you're not a smartass.

I always love when some know-nothing tells me what I'm thinking

Provide some documentation of your honest, constructive criticism.

You can't back it up. That's your problem

Showing up to insult and disparage the players and coaches after a loss is pathetic.

I might let you caddy for me. Might
There's the smartass again. It's your MO....Provide me when I've responded to your post first. Do it. You can't. You like to be the big man and talk a big game and are all talk. Caddy!! What's the matter, can't afford a golf cart at the Putt Putt. Now go back and made some more of your smartass posts. Keep it coming. We can go all day.

It evens out. Fans don't look at their team and say boy did the refs screw the other team. But fans will call foul...hold....int...walk...etc...etc all day and night on the other teams. If you don't believe that then you are a straight up liar.

Now...find one time I've made an excuse for a losses. You win you lose. Excuses are for the losers. It's odd they let Edey get by with murder against us...but not the game that really mattered. I guess it was because it wasn't the refs that just hated UT.
It has to even out by the end of the game to "even" out. So you just made made my point for me. Nice two points..... in your own goal.
We had 25 fouls, and they had only 12.
Zach Edey played 39 minutes and had one single foul called. One. lol No objective person watching that games believes he only fouled on time in those 39 minutes.
Fans always complain about officiating and often it does " even out". It didn't this game and the missed calls made a huge impact on the game.
That's just the reality of the situation. Cold plain reality.
You can lay that blame at coach Barnes feet if you want. You can blame him for your wife cheating on you if you want. Doesn’t make it reality, tho. There are a ton of things a coach can fix in a game/be responsible for, poor officiating isn't one of them.

Incidentally, I never said they refs just " hated Tennessee ". Stars in college basketball often get favorable treatment in regards.
As far complaining about calls, for sure it happens all the time. Look at Kentucky, they made 3-4 threads on their forums yesterday about officiating, especially when they thought they might end up losing lol.
I admit that no problem. Sometimes it is warranted, sometimes it isn't.
Sometimes it evens out, sometimes it doesn't.

Now you need to admit that sometimes the better playing teams loses because of poor officiating. If you can't necessarily do this, you're a dishonest person like I figured.

Because he's a smart ass...Please tell me you already know that? It's what he does....Some might let him do it but rest assured I will not. He thinks he's a big man...but he gets laughed at.

Didn't say game...over all. I guess UT didn't commit any of those fouls, huh? We win it's because we were great and Barnes is a genius....We lose and it's the refs fault. They are all against UT and Barnes. I don't put blame on losses except that we got our asses beat. I sure don't cry like some...You?

Nope. Sometimes you win games from officiating, sometimes you lose them, and sometimes it's really not a factor.
Take our game with Alabama at home in football a couple years back, I can admit we won because a favorable call.
Why can I do that? Because I have no problem being honest ( unlike you being dishonest and not admitting that sometimes the better playing teams loses because of poor officiating).

I never place blame on the refs....If you want to cry about it then go ahead. It's still a L in the loss column. Putting your BS being dishonest in there is having the little man syndrome. You can cry all you want...I don't. Excuses are for losers...Winners don't have to.

Nice strawman. I didn't say it doesn't still count as a loss. MY fundamental point was you can't put that particular loss on Barnes.
Nothing more, nothing less.
The game last night you put some of that blame on Barnes. I made this thread about it. I think this proves your original post about me was wrong.

Lastly, I didn't ask you to necessarily ascribe blame to anyone.
I asked you if you able to be honest enough to admit sometimes a better playing teams loses in sports because of poor officiating. You can't do it tho, because your dishonest.

You played in the SEC in the early 1970s and then coached for 33 years? That's what you claimed a couple of weeks ago, so you must have played at Cypress Point, right? How about Pebble or Spyglass? What about Champions or Colonial? Shady Oaks? The Honors? Firestone? Murifiield Village? The Old Course? Carnoustie ? Turnberry? Atlanta SC? Harbour Town? TPC Sawgrass?

At some of those, I actually did walk

Did Auburn beat us?
Irrelevant to the point. It was stated that teams like Auburn, Bama and Florida score a lot of points and implied they would be better suited for March. Florida scored 44 against us a week and a half ago and Auburn scored 53 against us a couple weeks ago. A lot of folks are proclaiming that our inconsistent offense will lead to an early exit if we run into a team with good shooters. Auburn and Florida both have multiple good shooters, yet we held them to 53 and 44 very recently. I guess if those teams run into a team that can hold them down defensively like we did, that means they will have an early exit, too, right?

That ruins the narrative. Nice post

Played Pebble...Harbour Town...The Old Course...I have family in Scotland. And Sawgrass...I lived in Ponte Vedra and actually watched them break ground and build TPC Sawgrass in the 70s. Good friend of mine worked for Florida Wildlife that worked removing wildlife from the swamps where the golf course sits.

What does what I've done have to do with where I've played golf? You jealous? I've also played in Japan...England...TPC Southwind in Memphis several times...In the early 90s at Doral in Miami where my father in law lived. You want to tell us all about your golfing experiences and highlights? I've walked plenty of courses...many times.

We split with Florida.....We still lost to Auburn. By my country math if you hold a team to 20 points and score 19 you still lost. Defense means little if you can't outscored your opponent.

Cool. That's why I asked in an effort to find some common ground. I have been extremely fortunate to have had those opportunities

You're the one who made the silly comment about golf carts at a putt putt

Do you poke your bottom lip out when you cry? I'm honest enough to call a excuse maker when I see one. Find where I've blamed the refs for losses in any sport. It's the losers way out to blame refs....Your dishonest if you don't admit it. Two can play this game.
