He'd still be on the bench behind Dobbs if he stayed. Our current scheme and young offensive blocking line needed a running QB like Dobbs. Good for him for putting up the numbers that he is though.
We have to mark this down as another one of CBJ's failures to let a QB this good slip away from his program.
The blocking is greatly improved. He is mobile enough... and he gets the ball out quick.
If his head is straight then I'd take a shot at him. UT needs someone who can get the ball out to playmakers. I love Dobbs but he has not done a great job of that.

Look at the competition he's playing. Dobbs is going against SEC teams every week, and he has pretty good numbers himself.
I think people got a soft spot for Nathan Peterman because they felt he never really fit our system (after Jones arrived). Good kid in wrong system - people naturally want to see him do well. With Riley I think it's like a "hey look what could've been" thing because he was originally ahead of Dobbs then all of a sudden nosedived into the Atlantic and was never heard from again...until now
