Why? Because SDV is being realistic? As of today, Cuonzo Martin isn't in the same conversation as John Calipari. I'm a big Cuonzo fan, but we need to be realistic.
He has no shot at the Kentucky job.No, because every single comment he's left in the past two weeks only expresses his disdain for Martin. He's made it perfectly clear that he doesn't support the coach, so I think my comment is reasonable regardless of Cal.
Martin definitely deserves criticism, but to act like he has no shot to be good is unreasonable. He has yet to have a losing overall or conference record since he landed in the SEC. Lately, we've done nothing but add talent and trim fat around the roster. We had a decent season last year, and I really don't see how you can argue that we won't be better this season. You factor in the recent recruiting success, and especially the interest of Cofer, Lyle, and Haas, I see a stronger argument to believe Martin is bringing in the talent to compete on the national level.
Again, everyone understands he has his shortcomings, and I wouldn't even argue if you said you have more reason to believe he will fail (that remains to be seen. It could go either way). But to not acknowledge his accomplishments and completely write him off at this point is completely ludicrous, and I've learned that arguing with people who do so is completely pointless.
So you'll have to forgive me when I advise SDV to not switch his stance if Martin encounters some success in the future. He's been adamant and clear on his stance that Martin has no shot at all.

Very similar to Butch and ready to roll this year. The Vols would have been in the NCAA last year if Maymon had not gone down. Martin won the College Invitational post season tournament one year and the Missouri Valley Conference Title the next. To act as if Tennessee, with the best team they have had in years not to mention never in their history having 3 all SEC players in the same lineup, is incapable of winning the SEC this coming year is not giving very much credit to our players!I think if Tennessee isn't in the NCAA Tournament during the 2013-2014 season CM will have a very hot seat going into 2014-2015. No Tournament 2014-2015 season, new Coach in 2015-2016 season
The standard has been lowered to the point that yes he will still be the coach. In spite of improved raw talent we will not be a good team or one that's entertaining to watch....eventually he will be relieved of his duties but due to the current climate of the athletic department he will remain through the 2015-16 season.

Last year attendance average was 16,543. The previous year was 18,952.
Hart also gives little credence to a slight drop in attendance at Thompson-Boling Arena. The Vols averaged 19,895 fans per game from 2007 through 2010, ranking fourth nationally in attendance each year. Since then, that figure dropped to 18,952 (fifth) in 2011 and 16,543 (seventh) in 2012.
UT averaged 17,395 in 2013, ranking sixth.
When they say 2011 that means 2010-2011 season, 2012 is 2011-2012 season, 2013 is 2012-2013 season. NCAA hasn't released the 2012-2013 attendance numbers, I'm guessing you were looking at the wrong years, because attendance increased from Martin's first year to second.
